This has saved me many times when I sudddenly find out I have to run a group minutes before it starts. It also has been a great supplement for indivdual needs that go beyond our curriculum.

I've been a counselor in the addiction field for 9 years. I bought this book to help me come up with ideas for group therapy. I prefer to do individual therapy over group therapy, so I like to be really prepared in group situations. However, I am often thrown into doing a group at the last minute at my current job. This book has been incredible in helping me to help my clients with exercises that can really have an impact on their preparedness for living a sober life. I have used some exercises already and plan to use several more. I found the most thorough recovery plan in this book that I have ever come across anywhere. The included disc is great for printing out the forms in a neat and easy way. A variety of subjects are covered that can extend to anyone in counseling, not just addicts, and suggestions are made for the therapist on how to use each exercise in their practice. Anyone in the addiction field or any counseling field could benefit from owning this book. It is simply incredible.

This is another winner to add to my bookshelf at work; my patients benefit greatly, as do I, from the many creative assignments to work through. Great to use for group work also!!

clear and concise. provides good ideas for homework. should be very useful for detailed case planning and documentation by practitioners in this field. Highly recommended.

This book is a must have for any counselor/therapist,etc. It is filled with good, quality homework excercises that you can give your clients. I do recommend this book.

I use the product constantly for all Treatment Plans we do. Also use it to train interns. It is very clear, easy to use and is exceptional for Drug and Alcohol Treatment Plans. I would recommend it to anyone for client work and training.

I treat opioid addicts, and with suboxone therapy it is required they have therapy....so one of the things I do is give them handouts from here and they do it at home and we go over it in sessions when they are not in a crisis or dealing with an issue that takes priority. This has some GREAT activities that are for nearly everyone. I tell them, if a question does not apply skip it, or if changing a word or two will have it apply to you, change the words and answer it...it's about you as an individual, so no book/worksheet is ever going to be perfect. And the truth is, it won't but this has a massive amount of great things in it, and like my title says...I use it all the time! I also use it for group activities, and around 95% of all my patients really end up liking the worksheets. They prevoke thought, help with crisis planning (we should all be doing that with our patients/clients) and address a load of issues that most face! I use it with ADHD clients, Depression, etc. as well. But mostly my addicts who tend to of course have other issues...and it just addresses so much I don't have to re invent the wheel, its just throw on the copier and print. I then file their worksheets filled out (usually on seperate paper does not really leave enough space for full answers) and place in their charts with notes, etc. I see it and the MD who does their meds see it. And the DEA will see they are indeed engaged in therapy. The client's also can go back months later and see how far they have come, what they thought, felt etc. progress made, as they review what they wrote for themselves. I usually have the client have their own copy and keep a binder together. This is not ALL I do with them, but it is incorperated into their therapy as needed on a individual basis, works great! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! I see over 100 people a month, and this is so handy!

The planner and CD are great. I was concerned because I had read a review of a person who was unable to use the CD because he didn't have Therascribe. This wasn't the case for me. I have WORD 7 and the CD adapted to my format without a problem. It's easy to use with clients. I highly recommend this bood and CD.

If you do not have therascribe do not buy this. The CD Rom that is.I feel like this was a rip off.

I'm a new counselor working in addictions, and this is an excellent homework planner. It comes with worksheets that you can print out, and I've found this to be a wonderful resource for counseling sessions. Clients can take it home & review it and then bring it back to be discussed. I use this nearly every day, and I love it!
