I have a real soft spot in my heart for characters who don't think they're happily-ever-after material.
In Silas Garrett's case it's because his wife divorced him before she was tragically killed. In Jewel Jasper's case, it's because of her experiences with her always-seeking-but-never-succeeding-in-marriage mother. Their road to romance is never smooth but when these two lonely souls connect you'll cry and cheer at the same time. Templeton's gift for banter puts this one on my keeper shelf. Recommended: the other titles in Templeton's Wed in the West series. |
