Easy and useful, September 24, 2011
This review is from: Address Book (Kindle Edition)
I like things that serve more than one purpose. 7 Dragons is making some very good content that justifies carrying the Kindle everywhere. Notepad is fabulous. I have a lot of my contacts on my gmail, a lot more written down in various address books and I have been meaning to consolidate them but I don't carry a computer or smart phone so that means paper. Hard to update. This application works for me as I often have the Kindle when I go out and I always know where it is.
I spent a bit of time cleaning up my Gmail Contacts first and putting in some info from the paper address books, then I exported to VCard format (actually used the wrong format first. Didn't work). The help instructions were clear as to where to put the file and what would happen when I opened Address Book if I did it correctly. Worked like a charm. I like that I can easily look up by first or last name, as well as search. It's easy to update, too. I expect to use this quite a bit and I will also take advantage of the back-up features in case something happens to the Kindle.

A no-work way to get your contacts on the Kindle, September 21, 2011
This review is from: Address Book (Kindle Edition)
There are two equally good programs to choose from: Contacts (A Gamz), and this one Address Book (7 Dragons). Both are excellent. Use is simple. All major Email services (Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail) will let you store your contact list (built from emails) in VCF or vCard format. Save that to your computer, then upload to your Kindle. Both programs give detailed instructions. From there, you get easy access to your address book / contacts. There is also the method of retyping this info by hand. This program supports hand-entry just fine, but the above method is much easier. The differences are mostly cosmetic. In the top corner, the programmers give screen captures of various features. Compare to Contacts, and pick the appearance you like more. Recommended.

Great Little Address Book, September 24, 2011
This review is from: Address Book (Kindle Edition)
One comment...There IS a security on your Kindle. You Can Make Your OWN PERSONAL PASSWORD for your Kindle, just look it up in the Table of Contents for your Kindle..(or call Amazon for help. They are very helpful on any Kindle question). This address book is VERY FLEXIBLE in adding information . Just have to play around with it a bit. You can add more than one phone number/ email address for each person. Easy to look up a persons information, by first or last name, friend , family or co-worker. Just what I was looking for. Even can add birthdays ! Great to have when you are away from your home, and you can have someones email addresses, phone numbers and addresses right at your finger tips. (A wish I have had for along time when I am away from my home or out of state) Just make sure you do make your own personal password, and no one can get your personal information. Great job again !!
