Adentro is a punch to the heart - honest, intense, sensitive, emotional. Its beautiful and poetic lyrics are complimented with magnificent melodies, and further complimented with perfect orchestrations. Each song feels heartfelt - true. Ricardo Arjona's artistic integrity is evident throughout the album, which has an organic yet sophisticated feel.

Before Adentro, I had never bought an album by Arjona. I am now a fan.

Each song is a gem, but the gems among the gems are:

Para Bien o Para Mal - Listening to this song makes you feel like you are seeing your whole life in front of you, ready to move on - while you take some time to quickly scan the history of your love relationship for the last time. You feel the resignation and lack of hope regarding the past along with a huge and unavoidable melancholy. But you also feel the healing relief of getting out of something that was irreparable. The song ends with a relieved "For better or for worst - it's over". An undisputed masterpiece.

Pinginos en la Cama - Tori Amos or Nacho Cano (with Ana Torroja) could have easily written or sung the "piano version" of this song. The song has a very "Jackie's Strength" feel, but is completely original in melody and lyric. I cannot decide which version I like best. The more acoustic version is amazing with soubtle New Order-like guitars, mixed with other more Spanish guitars, as well as keyboards and ingenious stings. Bothe versions are great. Very true and "right-on" regarding what mature relationships sometimes go through, and the potentially devastating, irrational, and paranoid jealousy that can come between two individuals. I don't think this common issue has ever been expressed more eloquently or originally. Arjona just has such a way to write, that for example in this song, you feel the love, the anger, the tediousness, the longing, the irony ---- all at once. Amazing!

Mojado - A song with so much substance it will no doubt become a classic. I can see someone like Chavela Vargas or Juan Gabriel singing it in the future. The song's production and arrangement has just the right influence and blend of Tango, Flamenco, Tejano, and Pop. The melody is perfect. It's incredible!

Acompaname a Estar Solo - One of the most beautiful songs ever written. Deep, mature, hopeful, yet humble. So true to life and those times when we need to be introspective and take some time to be alone, in order to be able to face the future in a renewed and more positive way. The melody and arrangement are grandiose. Listen carefully and you will see that the song has an intricate pace that gives it an almost waltz-rock-pop feel.

Pa'Que - An outstanding melody with a piercingly sad lyric that effortlessly puts you in the shoes of a man who has lost his love. You instantly feel the longing and emptiness, and can almost feel the house and the world tumbling down on you, as if you were who the song was about. Heartbreaking. If you listen to the bare melody of the song (especially the chorus - not just the piano part), you will realize it is very much like a Chopin piece. Incredibly beautiful!

NOTE: Don't be put off if you are not into serious, slower songs. There are quite a few happy songs that rock in Adentro. I just love the more melancholic ones.

A brilliant album!

This is one of the best albums of Arjona, all the songs are excellent, specially "Acompañame a estar solo" which is one of the best songs of Arjona. I've been waiting for this album a lot of time. The combination of genres is very good, the lyrics of the songs are very good, specially in "Iluso" (one of my favorites of the album). "Para que me quieras como quiero" is one of the best songs. "Mojado" an excellent theme to reflect. All the songs are great like his autor.

No soy el tipo de persona que compra cd's o dvd's sin antes escuchar lo que tiene. Yo vivo en un lugar que no es tan facil conseguir música latina, pero ni siquiera tuve que pensar en escuchar el disco antes de enviarlo a buscar. Ricardo Arjona es, hoy por hoy el mejor cantautor de música en español. Lo más que me gusta de el es que el mezcla palabras que usamos todos los dias con palabras grandes, utilizando y enorgulleciendo nuestra bella lengua vernácula, el español. Por supuesto, el uso de las cuerdas en sus grabaciones es lo que me motivó a seguir buscando de el. For my english speaking subscribers, if you need to brush off in spanish, get more practice or expand your vocbulary, this is a good way to do so. Y para nosotros hispanoparlantes tambien. Una joya de grabacion. Felicidades, Ricardo Arjona, ¡lo hiciste de nuevo!

+t's just amazing how Ricardo Arjona plays with the words and composes a piece of Art with them. Only him could write a song about the women's menstrual cycle and sound like poetry.
He is one the best Latin American composers. A 10 +!!!

Masterpiece after masterpiece the greatest singer songwiter in the entire world does it again!

I love this CD. Arjona knows how to write music that leaves you speechless and breathless. I highly recommend this CD. Great variety of rhythms included in the CD. I love his style, I got another one of his CD's and love it. Great artist/poet/and loco.

Recién compré el disco, y habiéndolo escuchado todo, puedo decir con toda certeza que continúa la tradición mi compatriota Arjona en cuanto a letra e interpretación. Cada una de las letras, denota aspectos de la vida diaria, que todos hemos, o estamos viviendo, y no deja de sorprender la facilidad con la que se van ilvanando las ideas, las historias, las experienicias...la vida en si.

Puedo decir con toda tranquilidad, y orgullo claro está, que esta nueva propuesta no defrauda, sino más bien, alienta a esperar con ansias el próximo material.

Bien por vos Arjona...va una a tu salud! (p.s. Todavía espero me devolvás las portadas de mis discos que te dí a firmar hace poco más de dos años acá en Guate.). JM

Once again, he find the beauty an poetry in simple things with a big talent.

Excelente disco, las letras son muy elaboradas pero a la vez de la vida cotidiana, resaltan canciones como A TI, MOJADO, PINGUINOS EN LA CAMA (acustica), DE VEZ EN MES tiene una letra muy bien pensada y estructurada. El disco esta lleno de distintos estilos musicales pero muy bien seleccionados el sonido es excepcional... valio la pena esperar por este disco es Excelente.

Me encantan las canciones de Ricardo Arjona. [Casi] todas. Esperé este disco como agua de mayo. Acabo de recibirlo al fin y lo he escuchado varias veces. Creo que contiene una variedad musical sin precedentes en su discografia. Sigue siendo el genial compositor de siempre. Mis favoritas son Pingüinos en la Cama (la version en piano por favor, aunque la version -siempre a piano- que ha circulado grabada del show La Noche del 10 me parece que esta cantada con mas intensidad y sentimiento), El Mojado (que es una canción espectacular en todo sentido) y De Vez en Mes, que a mi criterio es una obra maestra, con una letra brillante en el uso de metaforas. El sonido del disco es a lo grande, la orquestación poderosa y el cantante, como siempre, de primera. Si aún no tienes el disco, no esperes un segundo más. Consíguelo hoy. Lo mejor de lo mejor.
