    3.0 out of 5 stars It's okay, not great, December 5, 2006
This review is from: Adesso Mini Black USB Keyboard with Glidepoint Touchpad (Electronics)
    Pros:
-The keyboard and touchpad worked immediately upon plugging it in. No driver downloads (at least with XP).
-The touchpad is actually fairly responsive, if a little small. It takes maybe three movements to get from the left side of the screen to the right side. Not many goofs along the way.
-The upper right corner works as a right-click, which is handy.
-The small size of the keyboard allows me to have both it and my mouse on the keyboard tray (I sometimes use my mouse with my left hand in conjunction with the keypad/keyboard.)
-I can use it on my lap

    Cons:
-The 2 "mouse" buttons under the keypad are angled down on a slope, making them difficult to click. Pretty stupid design really.
-The touchpad is a little small, especially the scroll area. Sometimes the "up" movement doesn't get picked up.
-Most of all, the special keys (CTRL,ALT,TAB, DEL, etc.) are ridiculously small. I don't know how anyone who types correctly can use this keyboard. My laptop keyboard has normal sized keys for these, and it doesn't seem much bigger.
-The keyboard has a very "clicky" response, not at all like my laptop, so I often miss a stroke from tapping too lightly.

Bottom line: it's okay, not great. but what else is out there? It has helped with the pain in my hand/wrist from using the scroll wheel all day for work. It's taken about 3 weeks to get used to it. I'd probably spend $50 on it again, but I'd also look more closely at the full sized and/or wireless options.

    4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality keyboard....but !!, April 5, 2006
By Windbreaker (Lincoln, Delaware) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Adesso Mini Black USB Keyboard with Glidepoint Touchpad (Electronics)
I have only used this keyboard for a very short amount of time, but I know already I'm going to return it. As stated, I see no concerns about the quality of this product, but the keyboard is too problematical for my interests and purposes. Compared to a convention keyboard the layout of the typing keys seems much more cramped, some high-use keys are just smaller, and there is also the relocation of other keys to (re)learn. In essence, it would take a good while to get used to using this keyboard in my opinion.

I may have to sacrifice the alternative of also having a touchpad, which I like using on occasion, even just for a change, but there are a (very) few other compact keyboards available that are more similar to the conventional keyboard in the typing area layout and key sizing which I believe I would prefer even more.

I was pleased to learn that if you wish to also keep a conventional mouse connected, there seems to be no conflict with the touchpad. You can control the cursor with either device.

You may have more patience than I and find this to be a terrific keyboard, but pay close attention to the dimensions, key locations and sizes, and make your best judgement....good luck !!

1.0 out of 5 stars Flimsy construction, terrible service, May 15, 2009
This review is from: Adesso Mini Black USB Keyboard with Glidepoint Touchpad (Electronics)
    1. The left control key is in the wrong place, making it very frustrating to execute keyboard shortcuts like control-c, control-v for cut/paste.

    2. The touchpad is almost unuseable, with the cursor frequently jumping across the screen.

    3. The keyboard feels flimsy and cheap. In fact mine arrived with 2 keys that had fallen off in the mail and the springs underneath were nowhere to be found. I can put the keys back on, but they are useless without the springs.

    4. Adesso has appalling customer service. Don't expect your email to their service desk to be returned. Calling is not much better: twice, I waited the arrival of replacement springs, after customer service agents promised to send them to me. Its 3 months and I'm still waiting.

4.0 out of 5 stars It works for me.
I wouldn't disagree with what other reviewers have said. The keys are clicky, but no big deal to me. The touch pad buttons are a bit low, but I'm managing. Read more
