BOTTOM LINE:
-Hardcore NON-MMO gamers: GET IT.
-PC POWER USERS, WRITERS: GET IT.
-Everyone else (casual users, etc): Wait for it to drop to about $40. At $80 its just too expensive; but the cost is the ONLY reason I say hold off...if you can afford it GET IT.
The BEST keyboard I have used in my entire life; I spend 8-12 hours in front of the PC for the past 15 years (writing, gaming, pc power user).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BACKGROUND: I spend over 8 hours a day in front of my computer. Often times in the 10-12 hour range. I have had various keyboards in my life, but in particular I have been using a (VERY BAD) Belkin $5 keyboard for the past 3-4 years and it works fine for me. I hesitated ordering this keyboard thinking that if I have been fine with a $5 keyboard for years, can I really justify spending $80 on a new one?

I am a gamer as well as a pc power-user. However, I have found that nearly every "gaming" keyboard on the market is really an "MMO-Gaming" keyboard. For other genres all those programmable keys just aren't needed, but what is needed is N-key rollover and crisp keys.

Onto the keyboard:

PROS:
-TWO 500mA usb ports above the numpad. These generate enough power to power all your devices (unlike the Logitech "gaming" usb that only puts out 150mA and is insufficient to power most things).
-Mic / Headphone in ports above numpad.
******I did not even REALIZE this product had these features until I recieved it!!
-VERY crisp keys.
-10-Key rollover
-Classic, FULL keyboard layout.
-Letters are textured onto keys; won't rub off.

NEUTRAL:
-No extra programmable keys
-Media Player features (mute, next track, etc) on F1-F6, but I can't figure out how to use them (there is no software and no FN key on the keyboard).

CONS:
-$80.

If this keyboard was $40 I would without hesitation recommend it to every single person I know regardless of their computer usage. However, it costs double that at $80. Even at $80, I can without hesitation recommend this keyboard to anyone who uses their computer extensively for typing purposes and gaming that is NOT an MMO (ie NOT WoW, etc). The keys are clean "click" and force-feedback. Keyboard also supports n-key rollover. This is incorrectly referred to as "anti-ghosting" on many keyboards. Although this keyboard advertises "n-key rollover" (n-key meaning ALL keys) in reality it is a 10-key which means that up to 10 keys may be pressed simultaneously without any problems. 10 is more than sufficient for any of my extensive needs; I have a hard time imagining anyone would need more. The media keys are also there and I am assuming its my mistake that I can't figure out how to use them, but I think they are useless in general so this does not affect my review in any way.

Let me mention again: the keyboard has TWO USB PORTS and a MIC and LINE IN port as well!! Perhaps I was just blind but I didn't see these listed anywhere when I purchased it (to be honest I would still be satisifed with the product even without these features but with them it is a DEFINITE BUY)

I absolutely love these MX BLUE switches, they are a dream to type on and sound very loud and clicky which was exactly what I was looking for. I also love the glossy body because it matches my desk. The only turn off for me are the crooked keys. Mine might be a defect, but every key is at a slanted at a different angle and it affects my typing. There aren't any rubber feet so this keyboard slips around alot. And one curious thing is that the keyboard isn't very heavy. I think it's only 1.5 pounds on my scale.

Edit: I found out that the OEM that manufactures this keyboard is the same one that makes the extremely shoddy iOne Scorpious M1 and the infamously unreliable Razer products. Doh... I wish they got rid of the useless USB hub and mic/headphone jacks and put the money they saved from that into a better quality control section.

Edit:
After receiving my replacement for the one with the crooked keys, this one also has crooked keys!!!!! WHAT?!! After spending $12 for shipping to RMA the defective keyboard which was entirely the manufacturer's fault, I get another keyboard exactly like it with the same defects.

Here are the defects on my board: the ENTIRE board has crooked keys!! When you place a ruler against the bottom of the keys, the are not parallel to the ruler. Why can my $5 cheapo keyboard do something better than my mechanical keyboard over 14 times the cost? I also have a huge problem with the 0 key on the numpad. It sticks like crazy and is impossible to press. The left shift key is also very stiff and causes strain when you hold it down when gaming. This is going straight back to J&R soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but there's a reason it is cheaper than comparable mechanical keyboards., April 5, 2011

I just got this thing this morning, so here are my initial reactions:

First of all, the outer casing of the keyboard bulges up in the middle, which makes some of the keys feel as if they are set lower in the keyboard than they are. This is most noticeable to me above the arrow keys. It feels strange right now, but I'll probably get used to it.

The keyboard casing is really glossy on top, which I'm not a big fan of, but that's minor.

To get the multimedia functions pictured on the F1-F6 keys to work, you need to hold left shift, apparently (I figured this out through trial and error). I assume this means you can't register a real shift-F1 key press without using the right shift key. If that's true, that's really annoying.

This is the first time I've used mx-blue key switches, and so if you know you prefer blues, then that's great, you'll love it. I'd only used browns before, and I'm still getting used to the different feel/sound. Unlike the browns, the blues have a click at the moment of actuation that feels and sounds like the microswitches used in mouse buttons and modern arcade buttons. Of course, both travel past the point of actuation and eventually bottom out in a plastic-on-plastic click that varies with the amount of force you put on the keys.

The built-in USB hub works great with my mouse, although I don't plan on plugging anything else into it.

So overall, a pretty good keyboard, but not perfect.

This was my first mechanical keyboard, unfortunately it won't be my last. I love the feel and response of the keys, so much nicer than the "gaming" keyboards i have used in the past. Unfortunately the keys have started sticking. I'm not sure what the deal is, but the "shift", and num pad "enter" keys stick every time I press them. This is not a good feature. As others have pointed out, they seem to have a quality control issue. I'll probably just spend the money for a Das next time around.

I have been using personal computers since the days of Radio Shack's TRS-80 and with the exception of an early IBM none have had a good or even adequate keyboard. A keyboard usually lasts for about two years then I can no longer stand the lack of tactile feedback and overall flimsy construction. The Adesso is different. It's heavy, has all of the extra keys where they should be and has a great feel to it. Yes it does cost more than the "five dollar specials" so often sold but it may be the case that the saying of getting what you pay for is true.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great if you like stuck keys, July 23, 2011

This review is from: Pro Mechanical Gaming Kyb (Electronics)
Bought this plank in June 2011. Have since tossed it into the pile of other keyboards I've been thoroughly disappointed with. Within a couple of weeks, the right Shift key kept sticking, causing me tremendous grief. I found myself constantly stuck in CAPS MODE LIKE THIS!!!!!! I didn't bother contacting the seller as, in my experience, anything that doesn't come DIRECTLY from Amazon equates to lots of headaches in doing returns/exchanges. I've had enough headaches from this keyboard. I bought it for writing as I was missing the clickety-clack sound of my old IBM-style keyboard. It does replicate that, but, if you've meaty hands and a passion for pounding out words as I do, this keyboard feels cheap and a touch spongy. Intended on purchasing a Das Keyboard, but I was swayed by the positive reviews (and relatively inexpensive price). Now I've a Das Keyboard. It works magnificently, while the Adesso worked out to be an $80 dollar lesson in the pitfalls of frugality. Basically, if you're looking for a cheaper alternative to the Das Keyboard or Steelseries brands, don't. You'll end up regretting it as I did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent mechanical keyboard., March 18, 2011

If you are after a mechanical keyboard with blue cherry switches (light to press and clicky) you can't go wrong with this one. Good construction quality, and a lot cheaper than competition. It also has full n-key rollover which might be useful for certain games.

I hesitated for a while before deciding to try a mechanical keyboard since I've been an MS 4000 user for many years. But once I've tried this wonder, I haven't gone back to the 4000 in weeks. Sure, I still prefer its ergo shape, but the key feel compensates for the lack of one on this keyboard. My dream product though it still MS 4000-shaped keyboard with mechanical switches.

Wanted a mechanical keyboard for gaming. This keyboard did the trick. Price was cheaper than all others and the average review seemed to be pretty good. Keyboard is very well built and should last me many years. Love the cherry blue key switches. N-key rollover is very helpful when gaming as well. Great keyboard.

This keyboard arrived with a spacebar that sticks and is uneven. If you use spacebar while gaming or typing this keyboard is not for you. I wouldn't recommend this keyboard to anyone. Buyer beware.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Like the Old Days, March 22, 2011

If you're looking for a great mechanical keyboard at a modest price, you'll find the Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard right up your street. I'm not a gamer and have no idea how this would help if you are, but as a professional whose job includes a lot of writing and composing at my computer, I can honestly say, this product has improved my life. Its really amazing to see the degradation in quality of the keyboards that are provided today with what are otherwise high end computers. The keyboard provided with my recently acquired PC was literally a 5 dollar piece of garbage with chicklet keys. The Pro Mechanical is a precision tool. The keys are sculpted and the tactile mechanical feedback from the cherry switches immediately increased the speed, quality and the pleasure I took in writing at my computer. I can't remember exactly what my old IBM PC keyboard circa 1990 felt like, but this is close. You have to pay a little for quality, but its worth it. Throw the chicklet board in the trash and type on this.
