When I purchased my lamp there were no reviews yet so I just went by description. I'm so glad I took a chance. It's so classy looking. I have a kitten who loves to play with the little chains to turn on the lights(one or two)and because the lamp base is fairly heavy, she can't knock it over. What a relief. Looking at the lamp from across the room the base appears to be more of a burnished gold rather than the silver in the add. This is a great plus fo me as I'm not a great fan of silver. I also love the white glass globe. It puts out a beautiful glow. My lamp is in my tv room. I'm homebound due to disability and to be able to order a lamp of this quality by mail was just great. I've had this lamp for about two years now. I don't know what the two star review is talking about. I have two full-sized, 60-watt light bulbs in my lamp and the shade covers them perfectly. As mentioned in another review, the lamp is quite heavy and sturdy. The quality is excellent.

A few weeks ago we bought a new bedroom set, everything mathed except for our lamps. My wife had a Tiffany style lamp on her nightstand while I had a cast-off floor lamp on my side of the bed. As luck would have it my wife's lamp broke so.... we decided to look for matching lamps and found this lamp. We purchased these bedside lamps because of their simple mission type styling and their price and we're very pleased with them. The walnut look goes fine with our new cherry furniture and the height is just right for reading in bed.
All in all, these are beautiful lamps and will be a fine addition to your home.

This lamp is more form than function. It's a pretty lamp but the shade is not long enough and the bulbs hang lower than the shade, which means the light shines right in your eye! I've tried every size and shape bulb but no help. I'm so sorry i bought this lamp, I can't use it on the end table in my living room. What a waste of money!
