These lamps or gorgeous in person. The photos truly don't do them justice. I love the 3-way touch controls. The lamps seem very well made and very high quality. My only comment is that the shades look slightly more beige online than they do in real life. They are very stark white in person, which fortunately didn't matter to me, but might to some.

I bought this lamp to replace an older but more expensive lamp that I purchased years ago at a store that rhymes with Nacy's. My old lamp no longer fit my den's new modern design but as I am now a doctoral student I did not have hundreds to spend to replace it. Not only did this lamp fit the bill price wise but it looks even more expensive than the 'expensive old lamp'. The base fits the Luxor name perfect with its timeless pyramid shape and steel color (which is more gray than in picture). The shade's classic shape would enable this lamp to fit any decor but was extra nice for my new retro lounge/den. The touch on/off was just an added plus. I just love this lamp!!! Think for Valentine's day I'll ask for the matching floor lamp instead of candy.

Most highly recommended. YOU SWITCH THE LAMP ON BY TOUCHING THE BASE, THERE IS NO SWITCH! This is the coolest lamp ever and it looks beautiful as well. Worth the price tag.

"This is the joy of the crazy lamp that I purchased. I've had to leave it unplugged since purchase because it was flickering wildly without prompting. I tried different bulbs, different outlets, power regulators (cleaners), different homes, and the lamp is just plain out of control.

I tried to go to sleep one night with it off and it turned on randomly 10 minutes into my sleep and woke me up.

I purchased from Unbeatable Sale. They were excessively unhelpful and ran me around in circles. Their support was pathetic and they have a consistent behavior of doing business the wrong way (please google them before purchasing).

I have upgraded my rating solely due to the wonderful support of the manufacturer. Adesso settled my issues even when the retailer (UnbeatableSale) was completely out of the loop. It was unfortunate that my lamp didn't work from the onset, but the design is beautiful, and these things happen. Adesso made it right.

I ordered 2 of these lamps. They arrived today, packaged beautifully. The lamps are IT. Man, they are gorgeous! Definitely would recommend them to anyone looking for high fashion contemporary lighting at an amazing price.

This is really a pity. This lamp is really beautiful, exactly what we wanted for our living room. However, this "smart" touch switch seems to be more of a headache than anything else.

Our lamp worked for over a week and, after having burned out 2 perfectly working CFL bulbs, it burned itself out too.

The flickering light also happened to us with the 1st CFL we used (a 100W equivalent).

I tried different outlets, different bulbs. I even tried buying a 3-way CFL but no success at all. It really died. So now I'm waiting for my replacement from Amazon to see if I get any luckier.

For now I'm giving it 3 stars. Full cup for looks, empty cup for quality. I'll update once my replacement arrives.

UPDATE AFTER REPLACEMENT ARRIVED:

Good news! After my replacement arrived, I'm upgrading my rating to 4 stars. It seems that someone realized that the "smart" touch feature was more of a trouble than a feature because my replacement, although identical, does not have the touch feature. It just has a standard switch near the light bulb's outlet just like any other lamp. And it's indeed 3-way. So far, so good. No more flickering, no more strange on/off behavior, no more wasted CFL light bulbs.

The lamp is supposedly a touch to turn on light. it never worked properly. It was difficult to turn on, and then wouldn't stay on--turning itself off at odd times. Then after 4 weeks it ceased to work at all. A mosy unstaisfacyory product in every way. Avoid it at all costs.

Ordered a set of 2, they work at first but then the touch feature stops working altogether or they go from on to flickering non stop and cannot be turned off without unplugging. This happened to each of the 2 in my first set. They were then replaced after speaking to the manufacturer and then the exact same thing happened with the new set of 2, manufacturer has no explanation or way to fix. These lamps are completely worthless, STAY AWAY!

I purchased this lamp because the product description stated that a three-way touch sensor switch powers the lamp. I thought it meant it was a three way light. After assembling the lamp, putting in a regular 100 watt bulb, and touching the base, it only went on or off. Before sending it back for a replacement, I called the factory to see if I missed something in the instructions. Turns out that this lamp USED to be 3-way, but because of the new energy bulbs available, the company changed the design and it only works as an on and off touch lamp.

It is a beautiful lamp, but not a 3-way, just an on and off touch. I have to admit I was disappointed.

I received two lamps. The are advertised as 3 way touch on and off. One is 3 way and the other is not. One lamp shade has a black mark on it.
I decided I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it so I decided I would live with it.
The are very beautiful lamps sitting on my bedside tables.
