Book Description

September 1996 1889636029 978-1889636023
ADHD: 102 Practical Strategies for Reducing the Deficit was written with parents of children with ADHD and professionals working with ADHD children in mind. The book is intended to be practical and encouraging. ADHD may not go away, but managing the effects of this disorder is possible.

Our "management" book emphasizes two keys. First, the adults (parents and educators) learn how to set up the optimal environment for children and adolescents with ADHD. Secondly, and just as importantly, skills are imparted to kids with ADHD so they may gain a sense of control and focus in their lives.

We hear many positive comments about ADHD: 102 Practical Strategies for Reducing the Deficit. We especially like the comments we often hear that this book is very understandable and a practical tool for kids and adults alike. This is especially gratifying to know since this is our main intention behind the book. We are flattered that this book is still being used regularly in workshops around the country.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am working with middle school students and have found that I use this very little. I think it would be a great purchase if you are working with younger students. I thought it was good enough to loan to a parent of a child who has never been diagnosed with ADHD to give her some ideas for managing his behavior while the diagnosis is explored.
