excellent shin guard,

It is extremely difficult to find shin guards in adult XL and in XL that will fit a tall person, 6'4". I bought these for my son and he told me these were very comfortable and flexible. The shin guard straps are heavy duty so he doesn't need additional straps or tape to keep his guards in place. Another plus is the ankle guards are detachable, very important for a mom that has to deal with smelly sports equipment.

Marketing? adidas needs to fix their marketing... a jumble of products, hard to find and source... suits their dollar focus but ignores my needs. They could do much better and dominate. Their website is a painful joke.
These Predator Anatomic shinguards sort of showed up. I'm not sure how long they've been on the US market. There's an all white version, an all back version, this white and black version with red PREDATOR E43149, and my favorite... a black version with red PREDATOR E43150 that only seems to be in Europe. The white versions can be sourced in the US... the black versions seem hard to find in the US. adidas should market the black E43150 on Amazon.com... it looks cool with the red PREDATOR, and black is the default color choice that hides the dirt. Function? They work great... simple design, no nonsense, good material choices, and well-made. They wrap and fit and you don't feel them. They have texture to hold onto the sock. I wear them over the Copa Zone Cushion sock and pull the sock back down over the guard... not conventional but it works for me. Protection? They have foam-backed plastic discs in the ankle guard and plenty of plastic stays in the shin guard. Meets certification. The segmented shin guard stays wrap the leg better than a solid plastic plate. They protect. Improvements? Put E43150 on the US market... they'll out sell all of the other clunky shinguards out there. Reduce the velcro... I would permanently attach the ankle guard to the shinguard... or try them separate. Leave a 1/4" pull tab of strap material at the end so you can get your fingers under the strap to pull the velcro apart. Sew the velcro fully onto strap material; don't use the velcro backing as a strap by itself... feels cheap. Shorten the top strap a bit on the XL... not sure about the other sizes. Don't mess with the E43149/E43150 shinguard body construction... it's perfect. Introduce a designer or signature series... something much more fashionable than just "Predator". Enjoy!

Needed "tall" or "adult large" shin guards for my teenage son. These are great and really protect the player. They are a bit bigger than he was use to so may take a few games or practices to get comfortable with them.
