the best shin guards i have ever owned,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Adidas Pro Lite US Shin Guard (Sports)
I've been playing soccer since I was 8 and have broken at least one pair of shin guards a season. The last ones I owned were bulky and didn't allow for maximum movement of my ankles. Now that I'm in college I figured it was time to invest in a good pair of shin guards. These are FANTASTIC. They are lightweight and stay in place. They are exactly as pictured, shin guards with a compression sleeve to hold them in place. This allows for our team trainer to tape my ankles were needed without the worry of a shin guard adding bulk to them. I've never had a problem with them popping out the top or sliding out the bottom (if that does happen you can normally just tape them in place over your sock). I bought the Adidas Women's Copa Sock along with these and along with the sleeve that comes with the shin guards I haven't had a problem with them moving. These are a great quality product and a good investment. I've had them now for two seasons and am hooked on Adidas products.

Here is some sizing info I found on-line before ordering these (I don't know how accurate it is):XL: 8.5", L: 8", M: 7", S: 6", XS: 5.5", XXS: 5" I ordered the M size for my son, based on the 7" guidelines I found on line (posted above). The shin guards are about 7", so I think that sizing info is probably fairly accurate. The package, however, stated that the size M is for height 5'5". My son is 10, and no where near 5'5" tall, but these are fine for him. Actually, I think he could have gone with the L. He is excited to have these shin guards with sleeves because they are "more professional" and what all the older kids wear. The sleeve holds them in place and then he puts his sock on over the sleeve.

I'm 5' 2" & I purchased a medium pair of these shin guards in September 2010 and love them! Lightweight, sturdy, comfortable, and easy to hand wash. Also, the mesh sleeves that came with the guards were always comfortable and kept the guards in. However, those guards have always been slightly too small for me, and also I wanted a backup pair, so I ordered a large pair of these last week. When they arrived, I found that they are extremely large for me (8" long X 3.75" wide)!! The package included sizing information which I've now uploaded onto Amazon for reference. Per that chart, I should have ordered a size medium again. I believe the sizes have possibly changed since I bought the original pair. Hope this helps!

I am not a tall person, but somehow, the medium size gaurd was way too small. (Packaging said it was for people shorter than 5'3", why couldn't that have been in the description?) Had to return them. The guard looked good, just very poorly sized.

These are pretty much as advertised, small and lightweight shinguards.
Obviously you get no ankle protection, and even limited shin protection with these on. I thought that wouldn't be a big deal, but I ended up with 5 stud shaped bruises on my ankle when someone stepped on it, probably not worth the loss in weight to use these. Also these sometimes shift around a little bit in the sleeves, I've had them side down into my ankle when the sleeve was centered or worn a little high, and had them pop out of the top of the sleeve when the sleeve was centered or worn a little low. If you want minimal protection, and the benefit of a little less weight, go for these, they're well built and you get pretty much exactly what you see.

Bought size Small which is perfect for my 5-year old daughter who is 3'7". (Shin guards are ~6.5" in length and are supposed to be appropriate, according to the label, for kids up to 4'7" in height.)

These are great shin guards and sleeves but there are specific height ranges for each size that are not provided by Amazon. We guessed too small so are having to reorder.

My husband really likes these. The sleeves are a little loose on him but that might mean his legs are just not as big as others. ??? Likes everything else about them.

The shin guards and socks themselves are very well made and very nice. The problem I had with them is the sizing runs very small. I had to try 2 pairs and am returning them because they weren't even close to the size we needed.
