This is a great product idea with fair execution. I ordered two units to create a double swinging driveway gate.

The packaging was terrible. Both arrived with the flimsy box ripped open, powder coating scrapped off in several places, and one frame actually bent. I would have returned it or exchanged it, but my timeline wouldn't allow. I ended up bending things back into shape as best I could to move forward. This left me with the disappointing feeling that I was putting a flimsy frame at the core of my gate.

Once things were as straight and true as I could get them, installation was exactly as advertised. The hardest part was making sure my measurements were correct. Beyond that it went together wonderfully. One note... I realized that both my units were mis-labeled with a "latch side" sticker placed on the hinge side of the frame. This meant that I installed both frames backwards, and only realized it when it was time to install the anti-sag cable. If I had followed the labels, the cable would have been forcing the latch side into the ground, not lifting it. Thankfully, the hinges are simple to remove and swap. Some wasted time, but glad I didn't get further into the process before noticing.

Once the frames were installed, and the wood facing was put on the gate I was very happy with how things were getting on. I noticed one side sagging just a bit after about two hours. When I went to tighten the cable just a bit (maybe one and a half turns) the factory crimped end snapped out. The cable didn't break, but slid out of the flimsy metal crimp making a loop in that end of the cable. Due to this I'll be removing both factory cables and replacing with a thicker gauge, and hand tightened saddle type holds.

My Adjust-A-Gate arrived within days of order it. Amazing. It came well packaged, with all parts separately wrapped. The instructions were as clear as could be made in print. As with all instructions; read them through completely, examining each part and screw to become familiar with the order of construction. I have two more gates to replace, and will be ordering more Adjust-A-Gates.

Warning... this is not the "Adjust-a-Gate" sold by Hoover Fence, but instead the one sold by Jewett-Cameron elsewhere on the site. It's also not black as pictured... and when shipping, the gates were trashed due to comically inappropriate packaging. See pix in customer pix section.

Edit: Amazon has deleted the customer pictures (which featured the trashed shipping box) and I've since deleted them. The heavy metal gates were shipped in their lightweight shelf boxes and the steel bars had busted through the packaging and were beaten, scraped and dented. I ordered from another vendor and these were shipped with exterior boxes (well packed) and were as pictured (black, heavy gauge, etc.)

Gate was easy to install, sag is adjustable. My only complaint is that the gate can only open one way (in) and the other side cannot be flush with the posts. Gate latch seems cheap also. Everything else seemed a good quality.

I purchased this gate to replace the two piece gate that warped beyond repair within a year of the fence being constructed. This gate is of decent quality however they did not include enough screws to secure the three 2x4's that are required to construct this gate. Additionally, the cable/turnbuckle assembly should not be secured by putting an "S" hook thru a hole in the square metal tube especially with a gate that can go up to 8' in width. With that much weight the "S" hook will eventually tear thru the square metal bar. I had to engineer my own clamps around the square metal bars at both ends to secure the anti-sag cable/turnbuckle assembly. The latch hardware is of very low quality as well.

I ordered two sets to make a double gate for a 16 ft. opening. Contrary to the claim, these do NOT extend to 96" (and yes these are the AG-60-3). In actuality I only needed them to go to 90 inches and even that they won't manage. The issue is that the sliding steel cross members need to be about 8-12" longer and 16" to provide more support would not hurt. I am really aggravated with this lousy product.

Bought the Adjust-a-gate for a cedar privacy fence that I was constructing. Delivery was quick, and it arrived undamaged.

Put it together, got it mounted on the gate post, and assembled the boards with no issues.

That said, the metal parts that hold the rails are VERY thin metal, and considering the cost of this gate, seems a bit overpriced for what you get. The latch was essentially useless, so I bought a different one at the local hardware store.

So yeah, it works for the most part, but should be cheaper.

I purchased 2 of these for dual swinging gates, and it works great. Fast easy assembly; about 3-4 hours from beginning to end. FYI, the hinge is a screw type hinge, that's made for wooden post. The packaging was terrible! I'm surprised only 1 part was missing. Luckily for me, I didn't need that part. It was a latch for one of the gates. Came with one in each box, and only needed one. Would I buy again? Yes, fast fix and easy install. Been swinging with no draw for past month.
