Installed easy and works well
We put this on an aluminum gate and it works well. I think it may be designed for a wooden gate, according to the instructions given. But we had no problems installing it and making it work on the metal gate. I would not hesitate to buy this drop rod kit again. Good quality parts and good design make it an easy install and easy to use.

Locking rod too short
Locking rod length is only 22" in locked position. If the bottom rail is installed higher than that it will not lock the gate in place. Box description does not state length. Installation instructions are skimpy and do not include length limitation.

Worked well for our application as house gate. We ended up drilling holes into the concrete for hole insertion. Overall, a good product for the do it your-selfer. You will need to mod.

I used this rod to close a gate linked fence after losing the ordinal rod it works well and fitted perfectly. I did not need any of the added assemblies because it slit right into the former rods hold perfectly. The rod is sturdy and hold very well. It worked and adjusted as well as the ordinal lost rod.
