I've purchased a total of three of these band clamps over the last couple years. I do a lot of curved panel work and they are quite handy for that application. The included corner blocks come in handy for those who do a lot of small-to-medium sized frames too. One problem is that the clamp body is made of plastic (the 'Y' section into which the screw handle inserts). On 2 of the 3 clamps I own, while clamping curved casework where only the band itself was used to apply circular clamping force (no clamp blocks were used), one or both of the plastic guides on the 'Y' section broke completely off the clamp body. I must admit that Pony was quite good about replacing the entire clamp when I informed them about this failure mode, but I believe that the clamps have a limited range of application and should not be used in any clamping configuration where the band angle of entry into the clamp body is equal to or greater than the angle of the clamp guide's throat. For example, if you intended to band clamp an oval table pedestal of about 4' length and 1' width, with the clamp body located on the long side of the workpiece, you would run into the above situation (that is, incidentally, the application where one of the above-mentioned failures occurred). I believe that the product could be vastly improved if the clamp body were fabricated of aluminum, steel, or iron, instead of the plastic it is currently made from.

This product is okay, works for basic items like picture frames, but isn't strong enough for any casement work. The plastic components in the handle strip out after a short amount of usage. I was disappointed with the product and had better luck using the corner pieces with some cheap tie down straps and mechanisms. I agree with the other review about the plastic just not being strong enough.

Then need to make the screw and body out of something stronger.

I am a woodworker and I use this device occasionaly with hard to hold objects. I have a very low budget shop and so this partiucular version.
Yes, you do need to treat it gently and stowing it is akward. It works well enough for a hobbyist

Before I purchased this clamp I could not easily get my segmented bowls and vessels glued together with the angles matching. I had to use used multiple clamps and there always was one that would not clamp and hold the joint together. With this one clamp I can quickly glue and have the wood pieces accurately match. I recommend this to anyone who glues several pieces together at the same time. It will work for picture frames and any item that has multiple angles that match. I plan to buy more.

Quite cumbersome to use on larger clamping work. Band roll gets unraveled and twisted very easily. Difficult to roll up after use.

I was told to buy a "Strap Clamp" to help me build an RC boat from a wood kit that I had. I had never heard of one, so I hit Amazon to find one.

I found this one which seemed to fit the bill for what I needed.

Shipping was fast, and the product seemed pretty nicely made. It was easy to use and had plenty of length on the band for it to work for what I would think are a ton of projects.

I used it to hold the main hull together on the RC boat that I was building right away. Wow. What a difference this product made on the build!! This was the second kit I had built, and the first time I had to keep measuring for square with a triangle, and hope that every other part was actually square. With the strap clamp, I just put it together with some 30 minute epoxy on the ends, adjusted the clamp to hold things the way that they were supposed to, tightened it up so it was snug (but not really tight) and let the hull sit. It came out with PERFECT 90 degree square angles.

I'm really glad I got this. It made the project much easier while also making it come out nicer.

Highly recommended!!

For some reason the strap clamps that they sell at Home Depot and Lowes are over complicated junk. This clamp is simple and easy to use. I don't know why I had to get it on Amazon but I am glad that I could find one at all. Works awesome! Get Two!

There is nothing negative to say about this. It serves its purpose and functions well. If you are building a frame or similar structure, this is a must-have.
