Decent lamp,

This lamp is well manufactured with an all metal body and is a good light source. If you are using a drafting table or have the lamp clamped to any angled surface, it will not be able to maintain position and the head will drag down under its own weight. To solve this problem it is necessary to also buy a separate adjustable table clamp such as this Adjustable Lamp Clamp Black in order to align the lamp to properly maintain its position. The springs that hold tension on the joints are also only held on by a groove and can easily come off. I've read elsewhere that the housing of the florescent bulb's starter will burn up and not function after about a year of use and is hard to replace, but I have not used the lamp long enough to experience this.
