Adjustable Dog Grooming Muzzle - LARGE, fits snout size 7"-8 1/2"

I bought this with the idea specially to be able to clip by Beagle's nails. I had bought a professional clipper on Amazon and was eager to use it (not those awlful guillotine types that crush the nail and cause pain) more of a rouneded head scissors/pliers type clippers. However my dog resisted me in every way and would almost bite at my hand to get away from the clippers. After placing this muzzle on--so easy to apply thanks to the Velcro fastener--she calmed down and allowed me to trim her nails. When they don't have their mouths to use as resistence it is so much easier. Not one bleeding nail either. Saved a lot from grooming charges, too. The most important thing is to get the right size. The first one I got was this one pictured, a medium, but in fact it was too big for my dog. The seller gladly exchanged it for a small muzzle that didn't slip off the head and snout when used. It's difficult to buy the right size from either a photo or suggested breeds. A medium was recommended for my Beagle, but she has a smaller snout as she's smaller than most Beagles (a rescue dog!). This muzzle is so light weight and the dog can breath so easily. She didn't fight it at all. I'm sure it would work for walking an aggressive dog, too. As I said I bought it for nail grooming.

Our older dog broke this muzzle the first time out with it. He saw another dog and started barking and the muzzle broke. Our younger dog broke the muzzle after about a week. I'm not bothering to send it back because I don't want to pay for postage.

I bought this for our black lab. She had it on for no more than a couple of minutes before it came loose at the seams. Bad quality even for the price. Sent it back.

I ordered the medium for my pure-bred beagle and it was entirely too large. After emailing the company they happily sent me out, free of charge, the small and the x-small so I could find the correct fitting muzzle. He ended up needing the x-small and I sent the other two back. The muzzle works great and my dog cannot get it off, cannot bark but he can lick his nose and I assume he would be able to vomit if he needed. I love it!

The problem with this muzzle is that it goes behind the ears and not around the neck. I have an 80 pound labrador. As soon as I put it on he started using his feet to push it out. After a bit he figured that all he had to do was move his ears and viola...it came off.

I like this muzzle's two-way adjustability, both around the neck and around the muzzle itself, as this lets me customize it not just to my dog, but for the purpose I'm using it on him. He's a rescue from Costa Rica, and dog-aggressive, since dogs roam loose here, and are almost never trained - the posturing is non-stop. I like that I can take him to the beach and let him run around with this on, without fear of him going after another dog, but with the adjustability to let him pant freely. My only complaint is that there is a seam on the inside that would definitely rub on his snout if I needed to have it fit snugly, such as for vet visits.

Muzzle is okay, but my dog was able to get it off a few times. I had to strap it to his leash and that that was a problem because the muzzle was pulling into his eyes. So I took some heavy scissors and cut the muzzle around the eye area, much better now. My dog still hates it, but he can't chew stuff up. The velcro is a nice feature as well. I would recommend.

Size X-small was good for my 7-lb chihuahua, great for her groomers who are now protected from bites.

I ordered the extra small for our 19 pound rat terrier, and it fits very well. It has been so hard to trim his nails, without him freaking out and trying to snap. We put the muzzle on him, and he calms down a great deal. I hold him while my wife trims his nails. This makes nail trimming so very easy, and works perfectly. However, we take the muzzle off as soon as his nails are trimmed, so we do not have to worry about him trying to pull it off.

This muzzle is very inexpensive and does the job very well. Once you get it adjusted, it is not hard to put on and remove. I highly recommend it for things like grooming.

It has saved me a lot of headaches, and also made me feel better about ordering some things.

I am so glad that I bought this muzzle, it is really durable, adjustable behind the ears and also around my dog's snout. Sooo glad I bought this one!
