I have read all of the "Kate Jasper" series and have to admit that they are kind of like sneaking articles in the National Enquirer when you are in the checkout line. High art? NOPE. Deep cultural meaning? NOPE. Educational? Nope. Just a cheap guilty pleasure. I won't insult any of the series by calling them a "cozy" read (really hate that terminally cute term) -- but they are quick to consume, tongue firmly glued to cheek, and relatively funny. Just fun escape from nasty old reality. In the guilty pleasure category -- they rate a 5 star.
