I found myself wanting to scream out loud at each of the characters in "Adjusting Journal Entries," the last book of the Eviscerating the Snake trilogy. With twists and turns galore, Ashley Fontainne has once again given us what we've come to expect in this great series, as well as what we don't expect. Unlike some authors, she doesn't frustrate you unnecessarily and does bring to conclusion the various threads of this intricate tale. However, in true form, she manages to leave you gasping at the end. This is one series that I would highly recommend, as well as the author herself. Do yourself a favor and immediately read anything Ashley writes!

1st, let me say, I read / listened to this book via audible.com. Let me tell you, it is the best of both worlds! In audio format, we get proper pronunciations, accents & suspense in all the right places! Have you ever hear anyone say the book was better after watching a movie? An audiobook is like listening to that movie as a book - being the best it can be!!!
What a roller-coaster ride, where do I start? There so many twists & turns in this book. I am just dumfounded after reading this series. It is FANTASTIC!!! Hollywood needs to pay attention to this author! Ashley Fontainne is that good!
In book 1 - Accountable to None, we met Audra who is brutally raped by her boss Olin. Olin her takes what he wants from every woman & thinks nothing about it. no is never a possibility & the the more fight a woman puts up, the more he loves it. for Olin, money solves everything. Audra, over 5+ years time plots out her revenge not only against Olin, but against everyone in her place of work who knew what happened & did nothing to stop it! Little does she know, her place of work is filled with 1 villain after another!
Loads of danger & suspense & lots & lots of mind games. Finally Olin gets put in jail & it appears all is well.
In book 2 - Zero Balance, The trial that never happens. Piper, a past psycho lover of Olin's goes around killing people & they are all employees where Audra works too, so there will be no witness's for Olin's trial. Top of her list to kill is Audra for starting the whole ball rolling! Book 2 is way better than book 1!
In book 3 - Adjusting journal Entries we find even more twists & turns. The plot thickens, danger everywhere. Nicole, another fellow employee is the Villain now & Audra finds love too.

I just can't say enough about this series. The character of Nichole, as mean as she is, will have you laughing your butt off. I found myself actually loving the evil monster. So many twists and surprises with this series. Ms. Fontainne is now my new favorite author. You simply cannot put these books down. I look forward to the upcoming books that I got a sneak peak into at the end of this book. Keep writing Ashley, you are truly an amazing talent!

Format: Paperback
This series of books are written in a very unique manner. The author dedicates each chapter to one of the main characters of her book, writing it in first person, thereby not only furthering the story line by the often violent and revengeful actions occurring, but revealing in depth the character's personality and thought processes. This last in the series began with the prologue where someone was walking through blood and jerked a cellphone out of Steve's bleeding hand and then with a .45 and a knife in her hands continued sneaking down the hall into Audra's bedroom. Audra Tanner was asleep recovering from having taken a bullet in her shoulder. Just as this person buried the knife to the hilt in Audra's body, a nurse called "Mrs. Simmons, are you all right?" Nicole Simmons realized that her dream was the beginning of a plan, which she just needed to hone to a fine point.

Eric Jennings married for thirty-five years to Elaine with two children was tired of Elaine. Elaine fought to save her marriage and then on the TV she heard of the mysterious death of Olin Kemper along with the deaths of Piper Rancliff and Kevin Robertson. Though Elaine tried hard to stop him, Eric left her for Nicole Simmons. All of these people are officers in the CPA firm of Winscott & Assoc.

Nick Rancliff, an attorney for Winscott is also in this hospital with a cast on his arm, along with Audra Tanner who had been badly injured and in a coma. The doctors were not certain she would snap out of it. Everyone in Winscott was tied up fighting for control of the company and Olin Kemper, the most powerful of the group took advantage of his position and had been a sadistic rapist.

Adjusting Journal Entries is the third book in the Eviscerating the Snake series by Ashley Fontainne. In the first book, Accountable to None, we are introduced to the employees and partners in the prestigious Arizona accounting firm of Winscott & Associates, where the managing partner committed heinous acts on its female employees and our heroine, Audra, stopped Olin's tyranny. The second book, Zero Balance, deals with the aftermath of Audra shaking things up with the firm, including the mentally unstable former partner, Piper, who goes on a killing spree of the firm's employees.

In Adjusting Journal Entries the villain is fellow partner Nicole who resents Audra for ruining her secure life at the firm. In this book Nicole's backstory is wonderfully developed and we better understand why she takes the actions that she does. A few loose ends are also tied up nicely after a few thrilling scenes where I just couldn't listen fast enough to see how our heroine would escape.

I was extremely happy to have Sara Morsey back narrating. She does a fantastic job differentiating between the male and female characters and her voice portrayals between books is consistent (not all narrators do this). She was very believable as Nicole, taking her from a self absorbed workaholic to a demented madwoman over the course of three books. Well done!!
