5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Good Book
Now, let me preface what I have to say with the disclosure that I do not think one's decision whether to purchase a hornbook should stand or fall on the strength of an Amazon review. 1.0 out of 5 stars Administrative Law Hornbook Disappoints
I am extremely disappointed with the Administrative Law edition of the Hornbook Series. This volume, written by Alfred C. Aman, contains dozens of of grammatical and spelling errors. 5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Good Book, September 25, 2011

This review is from: Administrative Law (Hornbook Series) (Hardcover)
Now, let me preface what I have to say with the disclosure that I do not think one's decision whether to purchase a hornbook should stand or fall on the strength of an Amazon review. I very much enjoyed this book. The authors infused the prose with great humor and fun. For anyone in the know, administrative law is everywhere a blunder. Its very raison d'etre is one long concession to the unconstitutionality of its evolution. It survives solely on the logic of efficiency and practicality. With that in mind, the authors, I thought, did a very good job crafting their narrative of this body of law. They would often pose funny jokes or make light of some questionable development of administrative law. So, for anyone interested in learning about ADMIN LAW, I would very strongly suggest that you sit down with this book.

If there is one criticism I could make of this book, it would be to develop the chapter on executive control a bit more.

I am extremely disappointed with the Administrative Law edition of the Hornbook Series. This volume, written by Alfred C. Aman, contains dozens of of grammatical and spelling errors. The writing style is also extremely cluttered and confusing. Aman regurlarly shifts back and forth between different ideas and concepts in a single sentence, making it difficult to digest the information he seeks to provide. Although some of the sections are better written and organized than others, I got the impression that this edition was rushed to press at the last minute without being reviewed by an editor. I would not recommend it. Stick with the Answers & Explanations Series by Seaman & Funk. While it does not cite to as many cases or cover the issues presented with as much depth, it is far easier to understand and enjoy.
