Although I found this book to be fairly informative in general, it does, at times, read like a microsoft ad!. Also I found that the author occasionally forgets to tell you what some of the abriviations stand for.

I did find it usefull as a first time reader of this topic dispite the above.

Great book at tying together concepts of e-commerce. The book is written in a conversational tone and is easy to understand, and includes some interesting examples of projects. I found the idea of having a central point of reference for projects critical as is the information on how companies have struggled with the look and feel of their sites due to the need for strong leadership. Overall a good read and useful for defining how Site Server works as a website development environment.

What I found the best about this book is that the topic of electronic software distribution, and the hands-on tools and relationships you need are defined. Also the chapter on how all the parts of e-commerce fit together was pretty good. I think the author probably lives in this world and tends to use too many acronyms. I think having the book more focused on the hands-on aspects of managing a site would make this perfect for the beginner. Overall the book is written more like you were talking to the author - it does not preach and it tries to be helpful. I have also e-mailed the author and he's been quick to respond with answers.

There are many books out today on e-commerce, yet I found this book easy to read and easy to follow for getting a framework for organizing all the aspects of e-business. The book is focused on the needs of administrators wanting to understand why e-business and more specifically, e-commerce matters. It's a quick read and makes e-commerce make sense.

Focusing on the e-commerce, I found this book covered areas like security models and how to plan for secure transactions in a strong manner. Also the framework for creating an e-commerce strategy was useful. There is alot of info on Site Server, which is interesting becuase my company is evaluating all server platforms. Overall a good primer for e-commerce. Our company uses this book in courses on e-commerce for new salespeople.

I found this book to provide a level-set for my staff, who is working on the definition of our websites, and what we could reasonably expect with the resources onhand. This book gave us hands-on guidelines and advice from experience we could use for getting our site completed in the minimum amount of time with the least disconnects between what we wanted and what we ended up creating. E-Commerce is constantly changing, and this book brings all the change into perspective. Good teaching tool.

I bought this from you earlier this month, and found it to be easily read and full of great ideas of managing my e-comemrce projects. I am using this book for our future classes on e-commerce our firm is sponsoring for local businesses.

This book has interesting information about Microsoft's Site Server applications, and shows the plans for electronic software distribution Microsoft authored with key industry leaders. it is decidely pro e-commerce and provides an interesting approach to managing web development through cross-functional project teams.

I found this book to provide a good basis for learning about e-commerce, and especially the role of catalog providers. The coverage on software sales over the Internet and the role of CyberSource was great!

I have been studying up on e-business and found this book to have a personable tone and many insights into how I could get up to speed quickly with terms and concpets to manage the outsourcing of our company's website quicker. I liked the chapters on building a framework for organizing solutions and found the chapter on electronic software ditribution very enlightening. An easy book to read.
