This practical guide to Sun administration is a reference manual written by Sun administrators for Sun administrators. It is not intended to be a complete guide to Unix system administration; instead it concentrates on the special issues that are particular to the Sun environment. The authors present a detailed explanation of the issues invol ved in managing SunOS 4.0 through 4.0.3 than is currently available. The reader is led through the basic steps for installing and maintaining a network of Sun computers. Useful ideas are offered concerning NFS, YP, backup and restore procedures, as well as useful installation tips.

Make sure you receive the current version,

This is the older version of ISBN 0387972501. Unless you
work for the government and are supporting a network of
1988-1991 vintage Suns you'll want the more recent book.
This text still has some relevancy but has no discussion
of Solaris administration and the most recent architecture
mentioned is the Sparcstation 1...
