Time travel to the days when naval power was held by great sailing vessels.! A time when pirates and rouges seized control of land and ships. In Admiral Sea Battles you will lead campaigns to rid the seas of these vermin and reclaim lost lands. Find out if these pirates are acting alone or under direction of rival countries. Build forts for protection and arm your tall ships to defend your homes against the marauding ships of a ruthless enemy. Play against the computer or against a friend via Lan or Internet. Choose from 11 different sailing vessels ranging from tiny fast Galleys to a huge, powerful but cumbersome triple-decked juggernaut Battleship. Watch your results as you do battle and decimate your opponents fortresses, battle fleets and ports and thereby accomplish your final objectives. Board ships, careful strategic planning is needed to defeat your nations enemies, relive the day when tall sailing ships projected a nations power and Naval Warfare was a rare skill requiring cunning, position and the set up for the ultimate broadsides brining your cannon to bare on their hulls and masts. Although an older game and hence not as sophisticated in graphics/game play as todays offerings, this is strategically challenging. Its move based but proceeds at quite a pace. The vagaries of wind make add a randomness to the proceedings that adds an interesting dimension. One of few games I have found in the historical naval style.
Had some technical issues operating on XP initially , but excellent support from Sailonsoftware helped me to resolve.
