so heres my review: so overall: i give this book 3 STARS because theres one typo error: its actually 1kg= 2.2 pounds*** not 1pound= 2.2 kg this book is still VERY HELPFUL!!!! id give it 4 stars if it wasent for the typo lol. i took my test in august 13'. i used this book for my hesi exam which only had the reading, grammar, vocabulary, and math sections. i used this website: testprepreview.com *****i passed my math section with a 100 and my english composite score was also a 100. for the vocab section on the test, there may be words not listed in the book, but u can eliminate some obvious wrong answers. ****for the reading section on the test, the questions are straight forward! !!!! theres no real way of studying for reading comprehension, i just basically memorized the hesi hints in that study section. memorize your terms for grammar, know ALL the VOCAB listed in the book, the math section had ALOT of subtracting, adding, multiplying and dividing of FRACTIONS,know your percents,KnOW MILITARY TIME. and again KNOW UR FRACTIONS!!! if u dont know how to work on them once, then u wont know how to do them 20 times !!!!math part was very heavy on fractions!!! also,KNOW ur CONVERSIONS! practice how to convert using test prep website with practice questions in the book. how i studied: i made index cards for the hesi hints in reading comprehension, for all vocab terms, for grammar terms and tips, and for math i practiced all the problems OVER AND OVER again. make sure u practice everyday and constantly test urself using each chapter test and APPENDIX TESTS. practice makes perfect! - good luck!!! :]
I just took my HESI admission exam (omg I was dying from stress)! I used this book as a study guide and I passed my HESI test with flying colors. The math and language section are good study tools just on its own. The science sections, you should use it as a skeleton of what you should study. Dive into your past biology/chemistry text books and read up on the subjects they mention in here. The test doesn't seem to go too much in depth and focuses more on the broad subjects. But, every test is different so it might be different for you. Good luck!

Please don't listen to what anyone says. This book is everything that you need to score 90% and above average on HESI. I just scored 92% and some questions and reading passages were EXACTLY the same from this book. Just make flash cards for the vocab words, grammar terms, and some hard to understand anatomy and do all the practice questions. YOU WILL BE FINE.

I purchased this book about 5 months prior to taking the HESI A2 exam and flipped through it at first. Later, 3 months prior to my exam I began reading it more thoroughly and working on the math section. Now that I have completed the exam I have to say that this review guide does a pretty good job at giving you most of the info. needed. First the math section is spot on, all you need to know is in this guide in regards to math. The reading and grammar are similar in that all the info. to know is in the guide. The vocab seemed to be a little mixed, I think most of the review vocab is good but I also used other vocab review for GRE testing and scored 94%. The anatomy & physiology had most of the necessary material but there were a few (3-4) questions on the exam that the study guide hadn't mentioned, however if you have had two semesters of A&P (with a passing grade) you should be ok either coming up with the answer from memory or making a good guess by ruling out incorrect answers. The biology section was a little tricky, again a few (3-4) questions were not in the study guide but I had been using another book to study and that helped me with these. The chemistry review section was appropriate for what was in that section of the exam. The review questions at the end of each section are nice to test yourself and the practice exams at the end are good but I wish they had an "explanation to answer" section to accompany these. Overall I think this review book is a good book if you've completed A&P, chem, and bio prior to taking the exam (within the last 3-4 years); in regards to the other sections, this book is good with the exception of vocab which I believe additional review material is beneficial.
Omg this book is a big help!!! I took the Hesi exam yesterday and everything that I needed to know was in this book!!! I took every section except chemistry and physics. The only thing not included was the multiplication of 3 fractions together.
Also on the Hesi exam there were 3 seperate exams that you can not prepare for (my opinion) lol...it was a personality quiz and learning style along with some practical nurse questions. You can buy other books to get help with those questions.
Overall I do recommend the book a lot of the vocab and grammar comes straight from the book, and math problems. The biology and anatomy sections were a big help too but a website called quizlet dot com helped me with a thourough review. Of course the book isn't going to give you the same exact answers lol but they were pretty damn close. So just study the book and you'll do well Good Luck!!!!!
