A Must Have for Applicants, September 15, 2001
This review is from: Admission Requirements of U.S. and Canadian Dental Schools: 1992-1993 (Paperback)
If you are interested in applying for dental schools, this book is a definite must have. The book is published by the ADEA, which is the same organization that most schools use for the application process (visit www.adea.org for more info on applying to schools).
In it, you will find vital stats of applicants as well as stats for students who attended the school. I think this is the best part of the book. DAT scores, gpa, state of residency, minority status, price of education are all listed in concise, easy to read charts.
The book starts with a brief introduction to the field of dentistry and offers some advice on possible sources of guidance. There is also a section on financial aid and how to fund your education, repayment options, etc.
Each school in the US is listed and has a 2 page or longer description. Pre-requisites, a brief description of the school and curriculum, and cost (by year and total) are all covered.
In conclusion, this book will answer just about any questions you have about applying to dental school. why get other dental school guides when you can get the best? Buy this book -- you'll be glad you did. :)
