Adobe After Effects CS3 software allows you to create high end motion graphics and effects through the use of animated vector graphics, more organic movements as well as increased integration and collaboration features. In this training presentation, join author Joni Lambert, as she demonstrates the essential skills needed to get up and running with Adobe After Effects CS3 software. Joni starts off the training by getting you started within the program. Topics include creating new projects, common settings, a tour of the workspace, adding project media as well as common how to guides for some of the most used tools. During the second portion of the training Joni focuses on the creation of compositions through the use of layers within After Effects CS3. Specifically, she discusses the use of layer effects, keyframes, visual effects and transtions allowing you to get amazing results from your compositions. Joni concludes the training by demonstrating more advanced functionality and techniques, focusing on the finishing touches that can make your project stand out above the rest. This includes transparency effects, the puppet tool, masks, rendering and exporting. This training production is just under an hour and a half long and is presented as a computer based application which requires the free QuickTime player in order to play. This product does not contain the After Effects CS3 software although a trial version can be obtained from the Adobe website.

This DVD is exactly what it says it is, a "getting started" guide for Adobe After Effects CS3. While not a true tutorial showing the full fuctionality of AE (it would have to be a multi-disk set to even scratch the surface), the presenter does a good job showing the interface, workflow, and basic functionality.

For beginers, and at this price, this is a great product!
