Adobe After Effects 5.5 is the program of choice for motion graphics and visual effects maestros. Folks, Adobe After Effects is well worth the money they charge. The interface is very powerful and unbeatable. In 5.5 you now can work with basic 3d in a very powerful way, you can work with files from and for the internet, the plugins are insanely powerful, the application is very stable, there are about eight thousand ways to do everything with this extremely intuitive and amazing piece of software. For those who are going to use it as a toy, it may be a bit of an expensive one, so make sure you can afford it. But my whole career (a not unsuccessful one) has been built on using this fantastic application. It would have been worth it to spend ten times the price.

After Effects is a good product for the industry, but for a person such as a student, this product is much too pricey. Luckily I have had the chance to work a little with this product without having to foot the bill on my own. After effects doesn't compare to any other graphics product on the market. Its tools help to create realistic quality graphics, which are out of this world. If you have a chance to use this product without paying out of your own pocket, do it.
