Remains the gold standard,

I think its funny when people that have no idea what they are talking about review items. Bridge didn't replace anything, and photoshop has always started slow. But you also have to understand all that this program does isn't the same as running other applications. CS2 has made some great improvements to various aspects of the application. The RAW support is much better, and there is also greater support for 16bit. I've used photoshop since 2000, and upgraded with every new release, and CS2 is probably the biggest improvement since I've started with the program. I highly recommend this program to anyone even thinking about purchasing Photoshop CS2.

I've been less than impressed with adobe lately. From their monopolistic take over of their one competitor, to the bloated revisions of photoshop they keep churning out, they're just not what the used to be in my book. This version of Photoshop just seems heavy to me. It took longer to startup than CS1, the Adobe Bridge which replaced the file browser is another bloated mess. It takes twice as long to start up, doesnt manage pictures any better than the previous version, and adds about 2 extra processes to windows. The meager additions that have been added to photoshop cs2 are not worth the extra bloated price. And let's not forget the archaic authorization system. It doesnt deter pirates what so ever, casual copying perhaps. But all they are really doing is pissing off customers who actually buy the software.
