Effortless Upgrade with new fonts!,

Take a great product and make it work in Vista...add some new fonts, including a bonus set worth more than the price you paid for the upgrade and it's a no-brainer, especially if upgrading from CS2 as I was.

Even though I had the previous version, I had to take a class to learn all the features. Certainly does the job, but not particularyly user friendly.

Was a Pagemaker junkie, so I MUST convert to InDesign. Problems with shortcuts and text flow. Have been using tutorials from Adobe. I can see there will be a "long" period of adjustment.

My wife is a graphics designer who has worked with PageMaker for years and loved the software. With the purchase of a new 64 bit computer with Windows 7, I first upgraded from the Home edition to the Professional version in the hopes that we could run WorkPerfect, but it turned out we had the wrong processor to allow this to happen. I then purchased an upgrade edition of InDesign CS4, which is the Adobe's replacement for PageMaker.
I installed the software fine, but it didn't have a way to get beyond the "30-day trial" from the disc. I ended up having to call the Adobe help line and someone overseas talked me through the process, after providing special codes to install the full version. Adobe should have provided better instructions with their upgrade product of InDesign CS4 for conumers "moving up" from PageMaker. InDesign CS4 has lots of new features which appear mainly directed to advanced users of Adobe's interactive Creative Suite 4. Time will tell if my wife and I can figure out how to effectively use the new software as a stand alone product.

Worth the price,

Although the price held me off for quite a while, still using InDesign CS became more and more of a problem. Once I upgraded to InDesign CS4 I wondered why I waited because there are many more useful features, and the screen layout is also better. The floating palettes which used to be hidden on the side are now visible in a sidebar where they are always available without having to peer at the little tabs.
