Adobe InDesign CS5 Upsell from Pagemaker[OLD VERSION]

This review has two parts: the process of ordering and receiving the product; the product itself. As to the process of ordering and receiving, all went well and Amazon has performed as advertised. I rarely have issues with ordering, shipping and even the occasional return. As to the product itself, moving from PM 6.5 to InDesign has been a neutral experience. I do not use the product's extensive capabilities, but for what I need to use, the learning curve is overly difficult. As with many Adobe products, for me, I had to purchase a 600 page book to help me navigate the product. The need to do that should tell the story that the features are hard to find, hard to understand, and often do not provide the expected result. While there are more options than PM 6.5, they are neutralized by the need to spend hours figuring out how to use them.

Overall this was a move of technical necessity, not one I wanted to make.
