Another great piece of software from adobe !,
This review is from: Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended [OLD VERSION] (DVD-ROM)
Ok first off many out there dont know about Adobe Photoshop CS 3 Extended . The first few things most anyone will notice with the difference is that verry big price tag ! The normal photoshop cs 3 is still not cheap ! The standard version basicly like photoshop cs 2 works great with image related editing . The extended adds in a little bit more for the user to do . Here is a few things that covers on whats all new.
Easily create animations from a series of still images or video frames with a new Animation palette that enables onion skinning. Enhance video directly within Photoshop Extended. Now you can paint, add text, and clone over multiple frames of an imported video sequence. Create, modify, and collaborate on 3D content more easily through tight integration between Photoshop CS3 Extended and Acrobat® 3D software. Convert myriad 3D CAD formats to the robust U3D interchange format, enhance models and create composites with Photoshop Extended, and easily embed 3D models created in Photoshop Extended into PDF files to distribute for review. I could go a bit more into detail but the point is that Photoshop CS3 Extended adds in alot more editing power as well animations . The reason i went for this version was i intend to use for some web based movies i will be putting out . Also for editing my pictures done with a digital camera . So if your looking for a great package of software to handle alot more then just photos then this is it . It does run verry well with windows vista . For the best results you will need a good high end system . Like i was told by a adobe rep that is " If your system can run vista you can run our product ! " . I would still say depending what you intend to do with the program will all depend on the system your using it on . Also you need 1gb of hard drive space . If your going to be using the software for alot of things . I would say besure to have a good size hard drive to cover for the Operating System as well the program . Also Photoshop CS3 Extened does need a activation done ! The only difference is this time around you can only have 1 program activated . If you intend to use on more then one computer you will have to deactivate the current one before doing it on the other system . If that is not your cup of tea , you can always go out and buy another . So i would say for the best part before buying the program make sure what computer you want it on .

CS3 vs. CS2,
By
This review is from: Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended [OLD VERSION] (DVD-ROM)
If you own CS2 and are on-the-fence about whether to move to CS3, here are some points to ponder:
1. What kind of user are you? If you are a casual user, you're probably fine with CS2. The new version is not going to knock your socks off. 2. How much do you use the older version? If you're in CS2 quite a bit, then CS3 will improve your workflow and save you enough time to pay for itself pretty quickly. Not only does it load and process more quickly than the older version, many processes that preciously took multiple steps can now be done with one or two clicks of the mouse. 3. Do you intend to invest in training, how-to books, et cetera? If so, get CS3. Most of the training is targeted at the newer product. Why train (or write training materials) on something that is already obsolete? 4. Why do you want to upgrade? If you just gotta have the latest technology then you're going to buy it anyway. If you need to budget your spending, CS3 is faster, more productive and more versatile than CS2. The improvements in COLOR to B&W conversion alone made the switch worthwhile for me. I do not have a lot of extra cash to spend, and I thought long and hard before making the purchase, but I am glad that I did. I find the product has enough improvements to justify the expense. However, the changes are not so radical as to make this a "Must-Have" upgrade for everyone.

Need I say more, this is a great program and so much more than Elements which is good but CS3 is great. Take the time to learn this software and you will not be disappointed.

I Love Amazon, but Buyer Beware,
This review is from: Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended [OLD VERSION] (DVD-ROM)
I never received this item from the seller "The.Violent.Squirrel". I found a link to Amazon through www.rightcost.net and purchased Photoshop CS3, and upon purchasing it (after I already accepted the charges) it showed me that the seller was "The.Violent.Squirrel" and that this person had less a less than stellar rating. A few people, like me, never got their item, and others received pirated software.
Amazon is working with me and assured me a 100% refund, so I'm still a happy Amazon customer, but just be careful. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Stay away from "The.Violent.Squirrel".

I purchased a Visual Quickstart Guide for Adobe Photoshop CS3. These guides are excellent. They are the most comprehensive and easy to use guides that I have found. Recommend for anyone from novice to pro.Photoshop CS3 for Windows and Macintosh (Visual QuickStart Guide)

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended [OLD VERSION] (DVD-ROM)
I bought Photoshop CS3 Extended from seller "Ameliaa21" who, just like every other software vendor, claims that they do not sell pirated software. However, as stated on Adobe's website:
"If the software has already been registered and the license holder cannot provide you with a transfer of ownership, the transfer is illegal, and you will not be able to legally use or register the software" [...] Because seller "Ameliaa21" failed to provide a transfer of License, Adobe considered this sale illegal. The software works and updated as normal but I have never been able to successfully register this product with Adobe. The ability to upgrade this version to CS4 or any other version in the future will be not possible. According to Adobe, the version that I bought from seller "Ameliaa21" had already been properly registered and upgraded to Photoshop CS4.

CD only Photoshop CS3 Extended,
By
This review is from: Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended [OLD VERSION] (DVD-ROM)
While I was suspicious of a $1000+ program selling for $225, I figured this was Amazon; it should be safe. Well, it was a mixed bag. All that came was a CD in a paper sleeve and 1 page of hard to follow instructions. The serial number was almost impossible to find. It was certainly NOT on the "back of the CD case" as the program said. This being said, however, the program works fine and I guess that's the most important thing. The convoluted activation process the software took me through does lead me to question the authentcity of this copy.
