I purchased this book along with CS3 Photoshop Classroom in a Book. I can only compare the two, and I have to say that I like CIAB better. Revealed is hard to follow if you are just started out. As you get further into the class, if you are taking one, there are some helpful things things that you can't find in CIAB. My suggestion: Purchase both books together.

Finally, a great book to really delve into Photoshop nuances and secrets. I love the well-written chapters and it's alot of fun going through each one. I've learned so much and the author was very clear and concise. I also bought Classroom in A Book for CS3. It's also a great tool, but lacks some of the in-depth detail that I needed. I'll be buying the In-Design Revealed next. I can't wait - definitely worth the higher price!

Simply put, this book is full of examples of how *not* to use Photoshop. The author appears to have been under the impression that Photoshop exists solely in order to add drop shadows, beveled edges, and rainbow gradients to hastily-cut-out images and run-of-the-mill fonts (here's looking at you, Papyrus!). This entire book reads like an extended entry from--or a justification of the existence of--the Photoshop Disasters website. Please save your money for a book that will teach you the basics of decent design as well as the basics of Photoshop. And remember, kids: A rainbow gradient and ~super duper krazy!!! warped text~ do not a slick, portfolio-ready image make.

I am a teacher and have been using this book in my classroom, it's explanations are very through and it has useful lessons that are interesting to do.

This is the second Certification Courseware book that I buy. I am learning in an easy way how to use Photoshop. I highly recomend this book if you want to learn the essential skills for Adobe Photoshop software. This course includes a CD with files to work with.

So far the book is very easy to follow. The added data files are an added bonus.

This book was very helpful, but I must say, the CD that came with it had a virus on it! Does anyone do quality control anymore?

Thank goodness I didn't buy this book but I do use it in a beginning PShop class. And thank goodness I had a decent beginners' background of PShop because I didn't get much more by studying this book.

The book spends soooo much effort on how to do ugly things (warp text, shadowing gaaalore) and so little on how to do useful worthwhile things.

Many of the skill-review exercises are stoooopid and the working files in the CD (and referenced in the book) are sooo ugly. Some of the exercises focus on a tiny part of a piece of art so it's hard to see what you're doing. Other times the results are so ugly you wonder why you should be learning what she's trying to teach.

I've found many mistakes in the book as well.

The author does provide step-by-step directions but doesn't say WHY--as a result, many of the lessons are not very useful. Many of the steps are not even necessary.

I would NOT buy this book.

I received the book promptly and it was in the best possible condition. Hope to purchase others items from them in the future.

I still have not recieved this book!!!! I recieved a notice from the post office--i guess it was the post office--saying they missed me. When I try to call the number back, it doesn't work. I had to drop my class because the book never came!! I paid good money for something I never recieved!!! Whose fault is this!! I really want my money back!!! ...if they did deliver it, I'm glad they didn't just leave it outside like the other book I ordered (sent by another company on Amazon), but it doesn't take away from the fact that I still don't have my book.
