I'm a college student and I took this class this past spring. This CD is great. It brings you through every portion of Premiere 5. I was helping students all semester with their work and I got an A for the class.

The most fun,interactive and cheapest way of learning a software. Once you start this cd, you are hooked. You cannot stop. you have the control of when, where and how fast you want to learn. the presentation is very well organized and very thorough and full of valuble detailed information. It helps to have the program.After going thru this cd you will really have a good understanding of Adobe premiere and its power and you'll be ready to produce.

Successful communicators have three things in common; if one is missing, they flop. Mark as all three: (1) he is organized (2) he knows (3) he knows how to teach. To be able to each something that's both TECHNICAL and ARTISTIC (& make it fun) requires one to be highly developed in both the LEFT and RIGHT brain. With this CD I was able to have Premiere running in the background so I cold PAUSE, go into Premiere & put into practice IMMEDIATELY the point he just taught. I then cut/paste & made some notes on Word. Anybody can SAY they are a teacher; the real proof is in what the students remember. This has been a real joy learning. A great CD, I knew nothing about Premiere, and in a few hours, step by step, not too quickly, not too slowly, this CD explained it all so easily! It is the first time I ever enjoyed going through such a training! The price seemed a little high at first, but I do not regret a dollar of it.

I'm new at video editing with computer software. The basic and advance features of Adobe Premiere 5 were beyond me. After skimming the available Premiere 5 books, I decided to take a chance using this CD. It was the best investment that I've made for my multimedia reference library. After completing the turorial, I was off and running. Everything works that's on the CD. It covers the basics of setting up the Premiere prefences to rolling edits and virtual clips. It REALLY helps to see someone go through the steps as they explain the concepts. There are some things you can't catch without seeing the actual steps. The guy who rated the Training Video on CD with one star didn't even use the CD! This is a hands on CD, and it is a waste of time for thos who don't use the Premiere 5 software.

VTC has created an outstanding primer that can take someone entirely unfamiliar with Adobe Premier to an advanced user in a very short period of time. Through repetition and an exceptional level of clarity and depth, you are walked through Premiere's most basic and advanced features with such skill and simplicity you can not help but understand them. There are many advantages of the CD teaching format over video. For one you are working on the same computer as your program. At any moment you can jump into Premiere and try for yourself what you have just learned. And the image is crystal clear on the monitor. You are looking at a screen identical to your program. With video tape the image you are looking at is typically slightly blurred requiring you to view an enlarged insert to completely comprehend what is going on. Another great advantage comes when it is time to review the material. The disc has a clearly indexed menu. If you need to recall something you just learned, it is simplicity in itself to jump to the portion you need to review instantly. Imagine all the hunting and starting and stopping you have to go through with a video tape. In many ways the VTC disc is even superior to having a class or private tutor costing hundreds of dollars more. There are close to ten hours of teaching on this disc. Even the best teachers would be unable to concentrate their materials in such a concise and effective way. Once you have left a class you are on your own, but with a disc, you can always have your teacher at hand.

I am a strong advocate of this teaching disc. I use Premier and After Effects and Photoshop professionally and Adobe thought enough of my opinion to ask me to participate in a multimedia focus group to advise on future features and shortcomings of its multimedia editing products. I know of no better way to learn Premiere than this VTC training disc. As much as I enjoyed this disc I should comment that the After Effects training disc is not nearly as good as this one. The "Total After Effects" video series is far superior. VTCs AE lessons are overly repetitive of little used vector features, fail to demonstrate interesting projects and worse leaves much of the program unexplored.

For anyone uncertain about paying the price for this disc you may try out an exact web based sample of all the VTC teaching programs on their website. The lessons are quite long and with the exception of the lower quality sound, you will get a good feel for how the teaching system works. For a very modest monthly fee you can also subscribe to gain access to their entire catalog of teaching products. While all their discs may not be of the same value this one is well worth the price.

This was the first VTC Cd that i bought. I can only say, buy it. It's the best Training Programm that i found on the Market.

well, this is my very best VTC Training CD. and I loved it. I've looked for other products from other companies, but I think this ones the best. the price is reasonable, and especially, this premiere 5 VTC is the best of all VTCs also I can say. If you are not a reader, and if you need to learn some graphic thing, I think this VTC will be better than anything else. Seeing is believing.

My wife and I were commissioned to write, produce, film, and edit-to-master 9 training films. The finished product came in at 367 finished minutes. With no formalized professional training in filmwork at all, we did it! And Mark helped. His VTC Training CD is unmatched: easy to use, personable, concise, and NOT BORING! Thanks, Mark!

I had no idea about the graphics, editing, and so on. I just started with this, and loved it. It explains very easily with a nice view and clear sound. It brought me into the world of learning CDs. Now, I'm looking for more source like this which will teach me all.
