I bought this student edition on Monday and received it today (Wednesday) and couldn't be happier with how things turned out. I read some other reviews and was expecting to have a difficult time to verify that I was a student, but I had no troubles at all. I think it's silly to blame Amazon for what is clear to be an Adobe policy. If you go to the link that Amazon provides to see whether you qualify as a student or staff Adobe sets out very clear bullet points as to who can qualify. I thought I would have to send in copies of my picture ID and some other school forms but Adobe let me use my student email as part of the verification process and I received my serial number within seconds after hitting submit. I am very happy I went through Amazon to purchase this package as I couldn't find this particular item on the Adobe website. Just for Indesign alone on their website was 199.99 but you get so much more with this package for just a little more extra money. This is definitely the way to go!

I'm really ticked. You cannot download this software until Adobe approves of you as a teacher or student.
As the owner of and instructor in a post-secondary vocational school, I bought this product, believing I qualified. I called to find out more about proof of eligibility as a student or teacher, and this product is pretty much limited to elementary schools, high schools and colleges. My school, it turns out, is not eligible. Furthermore, I spoke with a gentleman representing Adobe who was obviously not from the USA. He couldn't even understand that a "postsecondary vocational school" is a category of school, not the official name of an institution. When I gave him the name of my school, his language barriers prevented him from being able to repeat it correctly. Regardless, I eventually discovered I wasn't eligible. (Adobe needs to stop shipping jobs overseas!)
As for the product itself, I am sure it is excellent. Fortunately, I didn't open the package.
I am now going to have to spend my time and energy and money repacking it, reshipping (at MY expense--apparently I'll get the money credited down the line), driving to UPS, etc. I'm extremely annoyed.

Adobe's exclusivity and stringent limitations regarding this product needs to be made extremely clear on Amazon's web page.

I agree with ME Raines.

You can't know if you're eligible until you open the package and run your information through Adobe.

From the box:

"STOP! Before installing this product, you must obtain a Student and Teacher Edition serial number by following the instructions enclosed."

Seems harmless enough...

Where are those instructions you ask? In the box, wrapped in plastic.

What are those instructions? Go online, use the serial number (in the plastic wrapped box), and take photos of your student ID, provide billing info, and/or email address.

None of this information is on the outside of the box OR on this Amazon desc. page.

So of course you have to open the box. Which makes it, according to Amazon, ineligible for return???

I bought this as an honest, adult student--but now I feel like I'm not enough of a student? And I won't know if I'm student-enough for another 2+ business days.

I'm so disappointed in Amazon right now...
