4.0 out of 5 stars handy app for testing sites on tablets August 1, 2012
Verified Purchase
While the app isn't perfect, it does a pretty good job of making your tablet automatically go wherever your desktop/laptop goes - letting you compare the site layout while you use your browser.
To use Shadow, you actually need this app, a desktop app, and a browser extension - then you can test your sites.
I should note that if you're browsing on localhost, on your local machine, your tablet wont be able to load the web page.

3.0 out of 5 stars Still needs improvement December 17, 2012
Verified Purchase
Originally my intention was to use this product for demoing/testing and then, eventually, live presentation of a new launch. Hooked up to my work MBP running Chrome, I feel that the response time was too slow for a live presentation--by the time the device refreshed it was more of a distraction than an addition to the material. For testing purposes, when time isn't essential, it is easier but slower than manually refreshing sites.

Additionally, I had stability issues on my Galaxy Nexus, the site would either not refresh (disconnected) or the app itself would crash. I sent a few bug reports to chronicle this, hopefully the issues can be solved. I have not tested on my new devices yet, but I will update if I notice substantial improvement.

In summary, this app can be useful for testing across multiple platforms (I can see the appeal of refreshing multiple devices at once), but it is still too buggy and slow for live demonstrations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent tool for mobile developers September 6, 2012
Verified Purchase
I don't know what I would do without this tool, there doesn't seem to be a way to point your mobile device at the localhost on your computer. And this tool allows you to edit the css live and see your updates on the devices, a very sweet tool.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sometimes the lag is a pain, but still priceless August 7, 2014
Verified Purchase
Works great but lags and you have to fiddle with it. Just for Clarification I have an Ipad, Samsung Note, two phones and a macbook all running at the same time for testing. Which is the point, but sometimes the android version will stop working but when you click refresh it works again. Other times however you have to close it out and start over.

Even with all that, Its priceless to me.. Thanks Adobe, Hope you keep working on it

Adobe Edge Inspect was a snap to install and start using. Any device on your WiFi network running Adobe Edge Inspect becomes a testing unit. No fees, no certificates, no provisioning profiles, no iTunes required just to build and test your app. And it is so helpful to be able to see changes to your work on a mobile device immediately after you make them without any hassle of having to package it as an app first. Adobe Edge Inspect worked seamlessly with Adobe Edge Code and Adobe Edge ReFlow. I use it to test on Kindle Fire, iPod Touch, iPad 3, and iPad mini. This is a brilliantly simple, useful app.

3.0 out of 5 stars Still a little buggy May 8, 2014

Great concept, but it's still a little buggy and not overly amazing. I'm using it to test on my iPhone and Kindle HD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Take Web Site Testing to a Whole New Level with Ease November 10, 2013
Verified Purchase
Excellent product, once you get it up and running. I had a few issues connecting various devices, but not a big deal afterwards. Easiest way to use this is via Edge Code. This gives a much more insightful method of testing rather than just re-sizing browser the window or using other emulators.

Obviously, one is limited by the number of devices they have at their disposal to test with.
