4.0 out of 5 stars Robust Image Processing App for Tablets - Android and iOS November 23, 2012
By Curious
Verified Purchase
First, for those of you who tend to be 1-star whiners (you know who you are...) keep the following in mind: A- This is a ten dollar app for tablets not the multi-hundred dollar grandpa (or grandma) version namesake that is targeted for use on 'real' computers (desktop or laptop), B- Think about the real-estate you have to work with (a phone's tiny screen, no way) before you slap down money and then cry to the rest of us about your judgement, C - While this is not full Photoshop it is not your basic stickers, hearts and speech bubbles image enhancement tool either. So please if you spell badly and think you will get frustrated with an app that takes some brain energy and more than a 5-minute attention span to master, please back away from the apps Store - don't give the app a 1-star rating.

Honestly, I suggest that anyone who is considering this app and who might be heartbroken over spending ten dollars then not being able to figure it out, first watch some Adobe TV or YouTube video tutorials to see what you'll be getting and getting yourself into. I think you will be ecstatic to see what robustness you can get functionality-wise on a tablet device for processing photos. Because there is always room for improvement I'm rating the app in its current form 4.5-stars. There are no earth shattering flaws that I've detected yet.

You will be able to create layers to overlay and blend effects (for those who do not use Photoshop it is the moral equivalent of having a bunch of images or effects on sheets of transparencies then stacking those transparencies to merge photo elements in flexible ways - including putting people onto different backgrounds, blurring backgrounds, etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Huge step up in the world of Kindle Fire Apps November 21, 2012

This app is adobe photoshop. If you have ever used photoshop express for ios and android u were prolly diappointed with how basic the app was. This app, photoshop touch is not like that. This app does alot of the basic photoshop tasks that the desktop version does. including using layers. If you are a photoshop user then you know that google images is very helpful when using layers in pictures. This app has a built in google images search and also has a built in facebook photo browser too. The interface is pretty as well. It looks similar to the iphoto app on the ipad except i think this app is much more professonial and has more depth than ios's iphoto app. 5 STARS!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Photoshop Touch on the Kindle Fire HD December 17, 2012
By Tai

I am running this on the 7" Kindle Fire HD 32G. The basic useful features of Photoshop are there: Magic wand select, rope select, Special effects tools, etc. They all function well, and probably better if using a stylus. (I haven't tried it with my Dagi stylus yet). Using my fingers require a bit of patience and several passes when selecting masking areas. It's hard to tell exactly where the tablet is picking up my touch underneath my finger.

My main complaint is that imported images must come from images saved in the "Downloads" directory. You can not select a directory path for the source of your images. Also, saving your images ,"Save to Gallery", saves your images to the folder "sdcard/Pictures/Adobe Photoshop Touch". The folder path can not be changed, and does not have the ability for selecting a folder to save it into. Hopefully, they will add this ability in the future. Until then, I will just have to move my files around to where the app wants it.

The only other complaint is zooming. It would be more helpful for selecting areas of an image if I could zoom in a little more than it currently allows.

Other than these 2 complaints, (that could eventually be fixed with software updates), I am happy with the way this app runs on this tablet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Fantastic March 7, 2013

Photoshop touch is awesome... as long as you are familiar with Photoshop. I had a little difficulty at first with figuring out the UI, but after about a half hour I was as comfortable with it as I've ever been on a PC. I didn't need the tutorials, but I can certainly see how some folks might; this is definitely not some cheep-o $0.99 app made for casual users or children. Definitely recommend using a stylus for this app, as it is difficult to select pixels with any accuracy using your fingers. All of the essentials are there, including the coveted magic wand select tool! I love this program, and would say that this is the best $10 you could dump into your kindle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Power for $10 December 3, 2012
Verified Purchase
First off, Play Store INCORRECTLY will not allow a download and install on a Note 2. It works great, considering the 5.5" screen. Perfect for the stylus, just what I was hoping I'd be able to do with my phone/"phablet".

Having been a professional user of digital photo editing software since 1997 and the original Leaf professional digital back, it is astonishing what you can do with a phone and $10. Get this and get a stylus and you'll be amazed.

I have never doubt that Abobe make great applications for professionals, but still I was wondering how can Desktop Photoshop be transferred to a tablet. I works like a charm. The only feature that I would love to have is opening an saving in diferent file formats.
