Adopted for a Purpose,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Adopted for a Purpose: Bible Stories of Joseph, Moses, Samuel, and Esther (Paperback)
Although this book was published in 1986, it is still relevant because of its subject matter, adoption, and its approach, Bible stories. Youd shows God's purposes in the lives of people who were taken from their original homes and placed somewhere else. "Never Bitter," the story of Joseph, probably shows this best when Joesph tells his brothers, "You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good."
All four characters left his or her natural family at different ages. Moses was an infant, Samuel was probably around five years old, Esther was likely a pre-teen, and Joseph, a teenager. Youd uses fiction techniques but remains true to the original Bible stories as she tells of real people put in special places for God's unique purposes. |
