When I first read the description of this show I fully expected it to be cheesy and overly saccharine. To be honest, I only tuned in out of morbid curiosity. What I got instead was a very pleasant surprise. The writing is pretty good and the acting was too. Some of the kids are a bit spotty but I think they will improve as the show goes on and they get more practice. Overall though the acting is solid and the two main adults are fantastic. The actresses have great on screen chemistry and they are very believable as a happy couple in a mature relationship. (some of the quick side comments they make to each other are quite funny).

The drama runs along the lines of 7th Heaven (which is to say Drama lite) but it is real enough to keep you interested. I found the show to be very enjoyable and, perhaps most important of all, full of characters that you actually care about.

I love this show! I've raised my 14 year old sister as my own since she was 2 and recently told my family I was gay and recently got domestically partnered this year so this show gives my child a show to relate to...people need to realize that same-sex families are every bit the same as straight families. I really just LOVE LOVE LOVE The Fosters!

As a transracial LGBT foster/adopt family - yes we actually are! This show so wonderfully reflects our own family, which I was not sure would ever happen in my lifetime. There are plenty of shows with LGBT people and kids, but no show with this "perfect storm" of marginalized identities. What is most striking to me, though, are the ways that the show understands the foster care system and the trauma of kids in that system - even when they finally get to a loving "forever home." Callie's character in particular, which is played by a brilliant actress, is so believable. The show NEVER takes the "easy way" out of the story line, but rather truly follows how real life is - messy!

The writing is amazing and spot on. And the look at racial issues and socio economic issues in the U.S. is very realistic.

For something coming out of Hollywood, this is just stunning - hats off to the writers who keep their integrity.

Probably the best show currently on television. Great story line and concept, I simply can't get enough of the fosters!

I love this show! It's just awesome! I think the cast are really great. Jake T. Austin plays Jesus very well. I think since he played Max on Wizards of Waverly Place he has grown a lot. I think it is interesting that he has ADT and takes pills for it. Maia Mitchell plays Callie and she plays her character so well that when she cries she makes me want to cry, when she smiles I can't help but smile with her. David Lambert who plays Brandon is great. I like how great he is at the piano and the fact that he helps everyone is great. Cierra Ramirez play Jake T. Austin's twin sister Mariana. She is really sweat and kind but when it comes to certain people or situations she can be rude and mean. Hayden Byerly plays Jude who is Callie's little brother. He really loves his sister and seems like he has no care in the world. When it comes to the Foster's home, he doesn't seem to want to leave. Stef who is played by Teri Polo is the biological mother of Brandon. She cares for her children a lot and wants to protect them. She is a very good police officer. Sherri Saum plays Stef's lover Lena. She also really cares for her kids. She like taking care of them and she thinks their education is very important so she enrolls them in the school that she is Vice Principle of. The Fosters are one big diverse family but at the end of the day give the same love to each other and will be a family for a long, long awesome time.

The show is dynamic SIMPLY because the characters are as "real" as you are going to get on tv unless it is HBO.

If you like the show "Parenthood" there is a good chance you will like this as well.

Glad this show had high rating and was renewed. Looking forward to more episodes. Season 1 covered a lot of ground so I am very curious to see what Season 2 will bring. I enjoyed everyone's story, fantastic cast/chemistry (and very goodlooking, needless to say), and am especially glad Teri Polo and Sherri Saum signed up for this show. JLo picked a winner, IMO.

I love the family atmosphere. Has the good mixed with the bad. Keeps me watching. Never no how it goes.
