I bought this case and it is cool. It would be cooler if the metal wasn't painted. The color is something between green and gray. Brushed aluminum would have been better (in my opinion).

I'm rating it low because the plastic clip that opens the case broke after about two months. It might have just been a fluke but I took DAMN good care of it and it broke anyway.

Cool will only get you so far...

Finally there is a hard case for compact flash cards. I went in to every in town store and couldn't find a hard case for compact flash cards. My dad has a high end camera that took these cards and needed a way to store them. The case works perfect. The hard shell protects to cards in addition to the cushion inside keeping the cards exactly where you left them. A+

This case is strongly constructed, has a secure hold on the cards, not exactly light if your used to the little cf plastic cases or some vinal holder, but it looks slick. And thats really all that matters ... right ...? ;)

This is a nice case that is reasonably well-designed. The shape and size is nice; the cards are held well; the latch works easily and securely. However, the hinge is a flexing piece of plastic. I worry about the long-term reliability of that. The rest of the case will outlast the hinge, for sure. I'd pay another dollar or two for a real hinge.

I have two trail cameras that use CF cards, and I have two cards for each camera. This case works well for when I exchange the card that's been in the cam (storing images) for a "blank" card. "Ready" cards can be stored on one side, "not ready" cards on the other.

I've used this case for almost a year, and so far, it's held the cards securely despite any rough handling. The aluminum shell did detach, because of the double-sided tape. As more pocket lint/dog hair/etc. gets on the tape, the less effective it becomes. I'll try the epoxy/superglue trick used by other reviewers.
No problems yet with the hinge, but the release button fell out of the latch yesterday. The case still latches as before, but it now takes a little more manipulation to open it. I found the missing part in the pocket of my laptop case and reattached it, but it's not "fixed" yet. At least the randomly-detaching shell will allow me to see how the button clips into place, and I might be able to correct that fault, too.

I'll still give it four stars for how it doesn't scatter its contents all over the landscape if (when) I drop it.

It does look "slick" like one of the other reviews said, but I had mine 2 days and the one aluminium cover came off. Turns out the sides are stuck onto the plastica casing with double-sided tape... eeck.

Put some super-glue in the mix and it was fixed!! Haha

Now it looks slick again and does what I bought it for.

Now I just wonder how long the plastice hinge will last.

Super product! This case is light, super solid, and convenient. I carry it with me wherever I go with my camera, so I always have extra cards on hand, and never have to worry about where to store a card.

First of all I ordered two cases and they shipped very fast. Both are brushed aluminum and I couldn't be happier with them. I can't tell you if they will break down the road but, I can tell you that if you have CF cards flying all around your camera bag like I did then these are what you want! I like how big the cases are, not huge, but they will make finding my cards much easier.

I didn't expect much for the price that I paid for them. But when I received them, I was surprised to find that they are good quality. Holds my CF cards snugly and and keeps closed tightly.

I will order more when I collect more CF cards. I highly recommend these.

It did not take me long to drop this thing (hense why I purchased it in the first place). Seems very tough and strong. Very happy with this purchase. I was not able to find anything similar at local stores.
