Twista tears it up on this CLASSIC......,
By
This review is from: Adrenaline Rush (Audio CD)
Twista had an album out before this called "Runnin Off At Da Mouth," but on that, he was all about rappin as fast as he could. On this album, he steps up his lyrics AND flow to the perfect level. He enunciates so well that you can understand almost every word he says, even when he's rapping at his fastest. On the title track, Twista is just downright amazing. In fact, it would've been better if he were on this track alone, just tearin it up for 4 minutes. "Overdose" has a slow, almost lethargical, yet eerie beat. "Mobster's Anthem" has a beat reminiscent of the classic "Nuthin But A G Thang." "It Feels So Good" & "Emotions" are both a nice change of pace. On any other rapper's album, these may sound like 2 sappy tracks, but Twista's flow saves them both, and actually turns them into some nice trax. But the stand-out track on this album is one of my favorite trax of all time, "Unsolved Mystery." Traxster's beat and Twista's signature flow are just undescribably dope on this track. This is in my top 15 trax of ALL TIME. Overall, this album has to be considered a classic. If you're a fan of gangsta rap, fast flows, or even just rap in general, this is a must have.

Sudden Rapid Increase In The Bloodstream,
By
This review is from: Adrenaline Rush (Audio CD)
Formally Tung Twista on debut album now simply goes by Twista for his sophomore release Adrenaline Rush with the signature rapid flow. "Intro" is almost conjure of the feelings and intensity put into this album. The title track featuring Young Buck of Psycho Drama is a good opposition of flows between the two as they share verses as stated in the beginning "...what happens when you combine the darkness with the light..?" This album was entirely produced by The Legendary Traxter and enhanced Twista's flow over songs such as "Death Before Dishonor" with lyrics such as "...with a paint brush / that a nigga can't trust..." The highlight of this album is hearing his flow over the slow, R&B tracks such as "It Feels So Good" and both versions of "Emotions". "Overdose" is actually the overall highlight of this LP as Twista had to be cut off with his overdub vocals with the same rapid fire flow. "Mobster's Anthem" featuring Speedknot Mobstaz is good crew song with the sample of Dr. Dre's "It's A G Thang". The thriller track on "Unsolved Mystery" is a song of fury where Twista took it to the street with murder and the opposite as he speaks on survival on "Korrupt World" featuring Side Effects of Psycho Drama. "Get It Wet" featuring Miss Kane is another mainstream song as he talks of getting close to the ladies. Hearing a variety of flows instead of the constant flow "No Remorse" featuring Speedknot Mobstaz, Link & Turtle ended this album with a high note. Twista's flow, lyrics and overall performance here is underestimated and is stronger than the later commercial / mainstream albums that recently had been released. Adrenaline Rush contains all the ingredients to make an album successful commercial hits, underground appeal, street songs, production and flow. All that is necessary for a good classic hip-hop / rap album is found here.

Twista remains one of the illest mc's to ever breathe into the microphone. His swift flow and knack for harmony is nearly unmatched in the hip hop community. His mic presence is amazing...when he starts rapping you just KNOW it is about to be some straight fiya. Twista's music is both hype and chill at the same time and his ability to tell stories just adds to his catalog. Twista can be listened to in a myriad of moods. His beats bump like none other making this TRUE music that you can ride to. He is BY FAR the best `fast' rapper on the planet. He rhymes so fast yet you can understand each word he says. His multi's are amazing and he rarely ever gets monotonous or boring on the mic. In fact his rhymes are so great that you MUST use the rewind button. He's that good.Adrenaline Rush was my first introduction to this mighty talent and is one of my top 20 albums in my collection. The beats on this album are nothing but top notch. In the ride....the bump is glorious....crisp and clear sounds from Chicago's Finest. Forget about Common...he's just aight compared to Twista. He even has the music that you can rip through a fine female with. `Feels So Good' is just so PIMP. The beat is slow but the flow is quick. Amazing song. This playalistic feel continues on the cut anthem "Get It Wet", which is another slow bump & grind song that is gangsta enough to ride to. So Ill. The title track has Twista getting everybody hyped with his aggressive flow. Overdose is 4 straight minutes of TRILLNESS. Twista is ripping every song and there is not one weak song on the entire album. Emotions, although it sounds similar to `Po Pimp', is still a great song and rocks the same vibe as that classic. Unsolved Mystery, Death Before Dishonor the list goes on...the album is that fie fie delicious gangsta music that is oh so refreshing. My review doesn't do this album or this rapper enough justice. This is a diamond in the rough that most people don't have yet because they ain't ready. Ask yourself this question; Are you ready?

Twista has risen above the rest with this album. No other rap artist can hang wit the furiously fast flows of this inhuman entertainer. The man was named Guiness Book of World Records fastest rapper. Failing to stop at quickness, the next best quality of his skillz is clarity. It totally blows my mind that he can rap so fast, and I can hear and understand every word he's saying. Dope lyrics mixed wit tight ass chorus's combine for your new favorite rap album. This is the first CD I've owned that i can listen to all the way through, and not get bored. If you love rap music as much as I do, go buy this album a.s.a.p., you won't be disappointed. One

Twista's masterpiece,
By Philip Y. (Israel) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Adrenaline Rush (Audio CD)
This album, released in 1997, is not his first. Actually he had an album, under the nickname Tung Twista a few years earlier - that album made some people pay attention to Twista style, but it wasn't a bug success... On "Adrenaline Rush" - it's a whole other story. This album came about an year after Twista made huge impression on Do Or Die's album "Picture This", where he totally ripped it on the 3 songs he appeared on (he completely stole the show on that album). Adrenaline Rush is a true classic, one of those albums that change the game, come out with a different sound. The world had heard Bone Thugs and Harmony even before that, but I think Twista has been doing this speed-rapping before that. Actually it doesn't really matter who STARTED it, the question is who is the BEST doing it. And here the answer is plain and simple - Twista. Tha boy is just amazing - he raps so fast, yet if you listen, you can understand every single word he's saying (unlike Bizzy Bone for example). The production is handled by The Legendary Traxter, and like on "Picture This" it's remarkable (even better than Picture This). The bass is very thick, some great keyboards all over. Some of the songs are pure gangsta sh**, while some of them are laid-back, with an R&B sound to them (yet they DON'T sound cheese or corny). The beats just fit Twista's style perfectly, and you can listen to it from beginning to the end without skipping a track. Too bad this album is so short, but hey - back in the days rappers didn't release 20+ tracks albums full of filler stuff like they do these days. The album is short, but perfect. The album went gold (I think), and if you want to hear Twista even before his nationwide success with his album "Kamikaze" you should listen to "Adrenaline Rush". Twista has been in the game for more than a decade, and I'm really happy he gets the recognition (and money) he deserves. Better late than never.

The Real Twista,
This review is from: Adrenaline Rush (Audio CD)
This debut from Twista shows his true skills on the mic and on this album he kept it underground and I like that a lot. The production is great and if you have a system then this will hit hard. The lyrics are on point and his fast rapping makes it that much better but if you can't keep up with him then it is hard to understand him but this album is still worth having. His last two album were a little too bubblegum but this album should be in your collection and also look at the album he did with The Speedknot Mobsta's that is another album worth having.

Overdose is a sweet song,
This review is from: Adrenaline Rush (Audio CD)
twista has great rapping skills, lyrics, production, he raps at the right pace and you can tell what he's saying atleast 90% of the time. I like it feels so good, unsolved mysteries, emotions and overdose, the disk is worth it just for those songs. those songs need to be on the radio every day!(even though they're old).
check out other classic cd's like the art of war by bone thugs ~n~ harmony, or if you want mo gangsta get east 1999!

Twista is labeled the fastest rapper of 97,but most likely he's still the fastest rapper alive.I love Twista's music, but Twista has lost something in late 98.He lost his original beat maker, the man that made the beats in Twista's albums is named Traxster,he's the one who brong the creepy and harcore beats.Traxster is still in business he has his own record label called "Cwal Mob Recordings".twista and his record label are excpeted to rop they're 3rd Legit Ballin album due out Feb,28th.Buy all Twista albums they're are all worth it.My favorie is Mobstability.
