5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Resource, Long Overdue, November 27, 2010
This review is from: Adrian Willaert: A Guide to Research (Routledge Music Bibliographies) (Hardcover)
This resource is of inestimable importance to music history and all lovers of Renaissance music. Adrian Willaert is arguably the greatest composer between the Josquin period and the period of Palestrina. An extremely versatile composer and prolific as well, Willaert's recognition has been late in arriving due to the attention of musicians, perhaps overmuch, to Josquin and his generation and to Palestrina and his generation. This resource should help to facilitate this process as the world of music and musicians realize the contribution of Adrian Willaert historically and his compositions aesthetically.
