Excellent Bicycle Cover,

This review is from: Adult Bicycle Storage Cover : 78 x 27 x 44 Khaki
After going through 2 of those cheap plastic covers over the past few years I decided it was time to invest in a "real" cover for my bicycle which spends it's entire time outside my little apartment or where I work. After measuring the bicycle (70L x 48H x 24W) and looking around on-line for several days, I got it narrowed down to this one from The Cover Store, and the one from Empire covers. I went with this one because it had a fastener on the bottom to hold the cover in place (optional on the Empire cover), and I liked the tan color better than the black Empire cover. I'm very pleased with the quality of this cover. I have my handlebars and seat set quite high, and often leave a small handlebar bag in place, and this cover still fits perfectly, covering the wheels all the way to the ground. I'm not sure what the other folks that complained of a generic style cover got, but the one I received was obviously tailored specifically for a bicycle, and with the elastic hem fits like a glove. I can't speak for it's durability or water resistance as I just got it, but a brief splash of water just ran off, and it seems to be made of very durable material. I will say though, that I was so impressed that I just ordered another one. Edit-Sept 28, 2011: I've had both covers for nearly a month now, and I'm VERY happy so far. I use my bike to commute to work, so I have a cover at both ends. Because of the elastic around the bottom, it took me a few times to figure out how to quickly and easily get the cover on and off, but here is what I've found works well for me: First, after getting the cover on and positioned the way I wanted it, I used a magic marker to draw a fairly large triangle over the seat with the tip pointing forward and an arrow inside the triangle, also pointing forward. Then I put a big L with a circle around it over the left handgrip and a big R with a circle around it over the right hand grip. These 3 markers help me quickly orient and position the cover when getting ready to put it on. What's important to realize is that the elastic around the bottom has a natural tendency to catch on things, so you simply have to learn what those things are on your particular bike and work around them. I start by finding the triangle marker and placing that over the seat, then I get the elastic over the handlebars and down over the front wheel. Then I get the rear of the cover down over the rear wheel and around both foot pedals and the dérailleur. It takes about 2 minutes. To get the cover off I just reverse the procedure, getting the elastic over the foot pedals and the dérailleur and then off the back wheel, then off the seat and finally over the handle bars. It takes about a minute. This cover has plenty of room, but it's tailored in such a way as to fit nicely, and with the elastic around the bottom it's very secure. I'll report back after we get a few rains, but so far these covers are winners.

Good bike cover,

This fits my bike (a 58cm cyclocross bike) easily. The shape is sensible and could fit a bike that's a little larger. (I don't know how much larger.)
Although it's a bit overkill for just keeping the dust off of my bike in the basement, I like this cover. If I kept my bike outside, then I'd especially appreciate the elastic cinching at the bottom, and the clasp around the bottom, and the fact that it is of heavier material than the Topeak road bike cover. (The Topeak road bike cover looks great on my wife's bike, but fits so tightly on mine that I'm sure it wouldn't last. This one is a comfortable fit.)

I bought the large size, and it nicely fits my cruiser, which has wide handle bars and a rear twin basket. The cover has been adequately shielding my bike from dust, sun, and rain. Only takes about a minute to take it off and place it on. And I appreciate the elastic banding at the bottom so it will not end up flapping in the wind. For the person saying this cover is meant for patio furniture - the company who makes it specializes in creating patio covers, but this particular product is definitely meant for a bicycle. My only gripe is after doing a bit more research online, I found that you can find similar covers that probably work just as well, elsewhere for $10-$15 cheaper.
