This review is from: Adult Bullying: Perpetrators and Victims (Hardcover)
Peter Randall has written a book that anyone who has been victimized by bullies or harassers will relate to imediately. He put into words what my rage inside of me feels like I just can't explain it. I've been a victim of corporate bullying until I finally had a nervous breakdown. When I found this book it was like Peter Randall had been following me around for 2 years and then put all these horrible stories together. Plain and simple he hit the nail on the head with this one. There's alot to learn and take from this book.

Peter Randall's book, Adult Bullying - Perpetrators and Victims, is a "must read" for everyone. As a person who has been the victim of bullies, both in the work place and personally, I found the book very beneficial in understanding why some people become victims and other bullies. The case histories were interesting, as were the proposed interventions.
As good as the book was, there were a few problems. Randall makes the point of the bully's responsibility and that the victim needs to understand how he or she is contributing to the situation. However, I think he could have done more with discussing the responsibility of others, both those who join in with the bully and those who simply try to ignore what is going on. For example, he points out that others may feel that the victim deserves the bullying because the victim is not strong enough to stop the bully. However, from personal experience, I know that for some people it is more that they do not want the bully going after them. Also, while many of the case studies and descriptions of interventions are transferable to America, there are clearly some cultural differences that were a little distracting. A little explanation in those instances would have been helpful. Overall, this is definitely a "must-read" book, whether you have been a victim, a bully, or a by-stander.

Adult Bullying: Perpetrators and Victims,

I bought this book to understand what drives Workplace Bullying and what creates a Bully. It was very helpful but I thought some of the case studies lacked cohesion. It was also written in a very academic style, which is fine, but makes it a bit more difficult to read.

Adult bullying is anything that embarrasses or humiliates violates one privacy gossip etc is basically adult bullying and slander...90 percent by women its just part of being a woman and its not even challenged or criticized why what would tabloid entertainment do if this was posited as a huge Sin.. as Paul the apostle does.

I purchased the Kindle edition of this book because it looked interesting. I was hoping to gain a better understanding of the bully (and victim) mentality. After reading 65% of the book I couldn't read any more. The content seemed too outdated, mundane and repetitive. I just couldn't read any more. If a book like this interests you I would recommend to research bullying on Google first. There are plenty of sites with RELEVANT information for free.
