3.0 out of 5 stars Not as advertised, July 10, 2004
By
This review is from: The Adult Coloring Book (Paperback)
The images in this book are FAR from erotic; as a matter of fact, there are more images where the figures are covered than nude or partially nude. There are a total of thirteen images to color in this book, most of which seem uninterested in each other.

The first image is an Adam and Eve scene with Adam having his back turned in a seated position. Eve is standing and facing forward, but she has this silly looking leaf floating over her crotch area.

The second image is vaguely reminiscent of the covers of romance novels with a reclining couple both wearing slightly primitive attire.

The third image is the only one that even comes CLOSE to being erotic, and it's a poorly drawn image of a couple with the man's hand on the woman's breast. It took me a while of looking at it just to figure out what it was.

The fourth image is a clothed woman sitting in a chair looking in the general direction of a clothed man (whom we only see part of). Very dull.

The fifth image is somewhat interesting, though not erotic. It consists of a man and woman in nature taking masks off each other.

The sixth image is science fiction/fantasy based with a telescope, a woman with a dress that resembles the stupid attire artists put women in for video games, and a male angel with one regular wing and one skeletal wing.

The seventh image is like the stained glass in an old cathedral, except that the people portrayed are nude (genitalia is not shown at all) and posing ridiculously.

The eighth image is of a dressed couple looking at each other across the room with a pool table in the foreground.

The ninth image is a woman seemingly trying to pull a man into the water where she is currently sitting.

The tenth image is of a man sitting hunched over in his shorts with a female half-nude torso beside him and a woman's back on his other side. He looks uninterested in either of them.

The eleventh image is of a couple disinterestedly bathing with a woman brushing her hair in the background, not paying attention to either of them.

The twelfth image is of four women apparently dressed for Mardis Gras (no nudity) with confetti and a sign that says "Rue Bourbon".

The thirteenth image is a couple in bed, but she is drawing in a coloring book while he is asleep and ignoring her with his foot under the pillow.

Overall, while the images might be interesting if all someone wanted was a book of images that weren't childish; but it's not in the least erotic, and I was sorely disappointed since it was billed as such.

I really wasn't very impressed. To me, most of the images weren't very erotic and the people depicted didn't really seem that interested in each other. There's a lot of nice background detail and some okay female breasts and torsos here, but very little for admirers of the male form or admirers of pure romance. And what the heck was with the pool-hall scene? Not erotic. Just cheezy.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Fun than Coloring Claribell, June 27, 2000
This review is from: The Adult Coloring Book (Paperback)
When I started my search, I couldn't imagine being able to find a coloring book for someone in their 60's. I'm sure glad I tried! It's exotic and erotic and offers an opportunity to be very colorful with "adult-sized" drawings. This has been a lot more fun than when I was growing up - no one standing over me to insure I color within the lines. It's better than therapy!
