4.0 out of 5 stars Very substantial
I found this HP robe to be substantial, making it drape very well. The clip at the neck, however, was useless.

1.0 out of 5 stars The Mediocre Harry Potter Robe, January 4, 2011

Instead of "deluxe," a more proper adjective would be "mediocre," at best. At this price, I expected a much better product. Instead, I got this garbage that looked like a 10-year old put together. The fabric is this cheap polyester that I expect to find in an arts & craft store for school children. This robe has no lining, despite the picture. I didn't even get a clip/clasp. The Gryffindor badge is (poorly) stitched a lot lower than its suppose to be. In addition, the "lining" is pink, not the Gryffindor red. It really looks nothing like the picture, nothing "deluxe" about it. I bought this robe as a present for a friend of mine. I was furious at this quality, that I was embarrassed to gift it. I ended up getting the robe altered, but I really wanted to return this piece of garbage. The biggest waste of $40 I have ever spent.

3.0 out of 5 stars Much less expensive than the Wizarding World version, June 19, 2011

and heavy enough to be a decent bathrobe. Length is good for an adult but arms are a little short. No pockets, nice hood. The burgandy trim area along the front is not sewn on both sides so sometimes it folds in on itself, which looks bad as the ends are not serged or finised in anyway. I sewed the burgandy trim closed, which looked much better. Also, the (unattached) "clip" that is supposed to keep the robe closed, does not hold it closed, it's more for show and you will likely lose it. Thus you'll need to sew a button or put a zip or create a belt to keep the robe closed.

For the price, it's not bad. I believe I paid here $40 last fall, Orlando Wizarding World version was $100 when we went in Sept 2010. Their version was nylon based, very well finished and quite a bit nicer.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sizing, November 4, 2010
I wish this had come in more sizes. While I had expected it to be a bit big on me since I'm 5'6" in height with a slender build, the robe drowns me and the arms are too short. The seams inside aren't even finished. The only good thing I have to say about it is that the robe at least came down to my ankles.

4.0 out of 5 stars Okay Harry Potter Cloak, October 7, 2010

I do like this product, although I think it is a little overpriced, and I was disappointed that the lining isn't red it's more of a pink, mauve color.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible. Do not buy this robe., February 2, 2012
This review is from: Adult Deluxe Harry Potter Robe (Toy)
This robe is horrible. It came without the Harry Potter Crest! Really disappointing. Colors are not even the right colors. It looks Pink. Do not waste your money. Really mad at the fact that it came without the Harry Potter Crest (the thing that goes on the right upside of the robe.)

I bought this for my daughter who wanted to be Hermonie Granger for Halloween. The robe is made from a warm thermal material which is great if you are in a cold climate. My daughter is about 5"4" and it was a bit long for her but didnt get in her way when she was walking. It has a clip that comes with it to close it but we found that insufficient if you wanted to wear regular clothes underneath. I wound up pinning it closed. Otherwise it was very authenic and my daughter was very pleased with how it looked.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than convincing!, October 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Adult Deluxe Harry Potter Robe (Toy)
I bought this robe for a Harry Potter party I threw at my college. Put together with a dark skirt, a white Oxford shirt, a maroon tie, and some hairspray, I looked more like Hermione than Emma Watson! I wore the whole ensemble to the dining hall and had at least 4 people approach me and compliment me on the costume.

The robe itself is very cozy and soft, quite long (I'm 5'11" and had to lift it up sometimes), and completely legitimate. My only complaint is that the maroon lining for the hood is a much lighter pink than in the picture, and the lining in the front does not go all the way around, so I had to pin it down or it would pop out and look silly.

Otherwise, though, it was GREAT! I told everyone who complimented me where I bought it. Amazon rocks!

4.0 out of 5 stars good robe, October 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am a little old to be dressing as a Grynffindor for Halloween but no matter, Halloween is always fun, no matter how old. Right?
The good;
This robe is very comfortable. I find it warm and wear it on chilly days when I am at the house. Kind of reminds of a bath robe, seriously, it is kinda of thick but not the nylon type of material you see on the movies or the expensive replica of the robes. It drapes well if you are between 5'6" and over. The hood is nice, but to be honest I look like a sith lord with the hood on so its for decoration.

The bad: the color. The color is suppose to be closer to red but this is a maroon color. I did not mind and besides, if i really want it red , then I can fix the lining myself and replace/overlap it with a redder material. the material is not the best and the Hogwarts patch seems too low and the material seems pretty cheap for the price (which i got a discount anyways so no matter

Conclusion: I am very fond of it, even bought a scarf, tie and sweater to go along with it. If you are looking for a more "hardcore" robe look alike then maybe this may not be for you.
But if you don't really care for that, like me, it looks great with the tie, sweater, and the rest! i got my sweater at Alivans!)
