After being immersed in dense (too dense) academic discourse, my initial reaction to this book was "too basic." After revisiting the book, I wish to retract my earlier review. It takes a mastery of the field to produce such an accessible overview of adult development. Also, the bio-psycho-social approach is in tune with current treatment trends. This very readable book would be a pleasure to use in teaching an undergraduate adult development class.

I would not have ordered this on my own, but was required for a grad school class. It's not a bad resource, but has some weak points. The chapter on Death and Dyning and that on Long Term Care left a lot to be desired. Otherwise it's a decent general rexource.

I saved so much money buying this book online for a short amount of time instead of buying the actual $200 book. Very easy to use.

This book was pretty informative. I have learned alot about the aging process and it is pretty scary. I know that aging is inevitable but the way this book describes it makes it sound like a death sentence. I have become quite fearful of becoming older. Anyway, it's a good book to read to become informed, but it is a long, depressive reading so prepare yourself.
