Great product, silly me i had thrown away all the packaging which also included the trial mode instructions, thanks everyone for pointing it out, if i had only read the stuff earlier, i just came in from a short bike ride to wholefoods, the light kept turning off after 20 seconds of so, i figured given that the event repeated in exact time intervals i figured it had to do with the trial mode, so with a one button mechanism, the only choice was to hold the button down until magic happened, YAY! it blinked strangely to tell me it was done after holding down the button for a few seconds. And now i am zipping around my neighborhood with cool blue spoke lights.

Nice light,

I bought this after a fellow bike commuter passed me one dark night and I saw how visible it made her bike -- Headlights are highly visible from the front, blinky red lights are highly visible from the back, and these spoke lights cover the "in-between" when a car is beside you can can't easily see your headlights or tail lights.
The light is reasonably bright, even lighting up the road around the wheel with a bit of a green glow. The switch is fairly hard to turn on/off - especially on cooler days when temps get blow the mid-40's - young children or those with low hand strength may have problems turning it on and off. If it's like the Nite Ize dog collar lights that I have, I expect it to get easier over time. Mounting it to bike was easy, I just slid it onto my wheel with spokes in the spoke slots on the unit and it's stayed securely mounted after a couple hundred miles of bike commuting. When I was temporarily commuting on a different bike with lightweight low spoke-count wheels, I found that the spokes were too far apart for the spoke slots on this light, so I just zip tied it to my spokes using the holes in the light and it worked fine. I haven't replaced the batteries yet, I estimate I've used it around 10 hours so far and the batteries seem to be holding up ok. I chose the green light since I figured that would stand out more against car taillights and turn-signals than the red or amber colors and I thought the blue might be frowned on by local law enforcement.

I've been using two of these for a few weeks. It does what it says it does, and I do feel safer when biking in the dark with this. But the batteries go pretty quickly. I use it about an hour each day and the batteries last maybe a week before getting too dim. It takes two CR2016 batteries and I have ordered quite a few; they aren't expensive. But it might be better to get CR2032 batteries instead. They're twice the thickness so they should fit, and provide 220 mAh whereas two CR2016s provide 180, so in theory they should last longer. And of course, they're either cool or geeky, depending on your point of view. Edit - I found some CR2032 batteries at a local PC Fair and can confirm that they fit and work. The numbers suggest that they will last at least as long as two CR2016 batteries, I'll re-edit if that is not the case.

this light is very handy for safety purposes. stays on the spoke well and is nice and bright. i have had it for a couple months now and no sign of battery wear at all. nice and bright! the flashing modes is ideal for different riding locations (busy streets or pitch black areas)
i recommend this to those of you who want to ride at night and be safe about it....because face it.....cars barely see you during the day!

This product is awesome!!! They are the best bike lights available!!! They are bright - easy to install & turn on/off. I bought the disco - they are fabulous - fading in/out of all the colors. When on flash they only flash in red. They are so bright & visible!! Very cool & pretty looking - and for safety they can't be beat!!! Highly recommend!!! Everyone needs these on their bike!!!!

You know those glow-in-the-dark things that look mildly green? That's about the color unlit. That bright green you see on the picture? Think a bit brighter than that. This thing is just fine for lighting up the spokes. It's quite visible in the daytime, nevermind what it'd do at night attached to something going in circles (your wheels).
It attaches very easily. Two slots for one spoke, so I suppose if one slot gets gunked up or you do something stupid to it, you've got a backup slot to slide it on to a spoke. No, you don't need to try and use both slots. That's madness. You don't really need a diagram or instructions to attach it, but it's fairly easy to do so. Two modes, blink and steady. I got the green. I do not recommend getting blue. Why? Use your brain. If you're paying attention to the law, you've got a red tail light that may or may not be flashing. Now you want something blue and flashing too? No, you are not a cop. Don't try to be one. Unless you are one. Fairly easy to turn on, not too easy to turn off. This is good because you don't want it magically ditching you in the middle of your ride. There's a few reviews noting some 'trial mode' thing. I've yet to see it, but I've yet to test it also. If this needs updating in that regard, I will update. If not... this will remain. Edit: No problems with it turning off. The thing is insanely bright at night.

Great Lights,

These lights are great. Cool effect. They stay solid or can blink. These are bright enough for others to see me, some are stunned, some cheer saying "sweet wheels!" and some cars enough stop dead in their tracks to let me pass, I'm assuming to take a longer look at the lights. These are the coolest safety feature I have on my bike.
If the light seems low, the batter may be low or almost dead. I received one out of the four I purchased in this condition. They lasted me the whole summer on the original batteries. I rode on average 30 miles a week while the sun was down.

I own 3 of these in blue. They are Awesome, they fit nice and snug on my 24" road bike. The light up the street. Draw lots of complements and attention. They blink or stay steady. When you go fast it will make a solid circle, and look like a tron light cycle. Batteries are easy to change, and it's held up to the weather, dirt and dust.

Love them, I bought a pair each or my son, daughter and my wife! I ride alone at nights and use excellent high powered lighting systems, but the same applies to non riders, so on my family's bikes they all have a front light, rear light and these. My kids even have the valve lights. You either use lights to see, and they need to be strong or to be seen, such as the case with my family. I WANT THEM SEEN AT ALL TIMES! My Kids love them!, Then I surprised my wife with hers, and even though me and the kids have to turn them on for her, we do. Hers are blue to match her bike, but the kids chose different colors, even on different wheels. It looks like a light show when they ride, BUT THEY ARE AS SAFE AS THEY CAN BE! It makes me feel better and I love to see them ride down the streets all lit up! Helpful trick for all of these, it is hard to get the spokes in to the inserts on all different bikes and my son has mag rims, so fortunately there are two small holes, where I attached them with clear zip ties and they stay just fine, it was easier this way for me and maybe for you!
