Solitary Experiments' third album (after two previous ones on Maschinenwelt) is a real hammer and promises to be one of the electro-highlights of 2003! Anthemic electro, hard and danceable at the same time, full of beautiful hymns, great vocals, and catchy melodies. "Advance into Unknown" is an album that you could describe as their most "commercial" one - standing for high quality in the composition and the execution of all songs. This album is full of potential hits, that it's almost impossible to give preference to certain tracks. This is perfect electro!!!

It's becoming increasingly hard to find decent electronic music without devolving into disgusting arguments over genre, but every once in a while you discover some gem like this that reminds you that sometimes a good album is just a damn good album. It has an awesome mix of strong vocals, dancefloor sensibilities, solid melodies, and effective samples. This album strikes me as a blend of Destroid and Project Pitchfork (circa Eon:Eon), but that's certainly not the whole picture. If you ever wax nostalgic over what Metropolis was putting out a decade ago, you'll certainly love this album. I dare you to listen to "The Essence of Mind"--with it's awesome Dark City samples--or "The Edge of Life" and not find yourself nodding along subconsciously and reaching for your wallet. This is how it's done, folks.
