I have the unit running for a month now. Recently, my house lost the power for one day due to the rain storm. The display on the clock went off too even though I have the battery in it. When the power is back in service, the clock has the correct time. It means the battery is used to keep the clock running and not a substitute of the electric power.

Well I will have to take back my "Feels and looks cheaply made..." con as I have knocked this clock off of the window sill about a dozen times onto a hard surface and it keeps on ticking. No visible signs of damage on it anywhere from the falls.

It still looks cheaply made, but can apparently take a beating!

I needed a clock in my bedroom because I finally got rid of my VCR (it was the only reason I kept the VCR because it was the only clock in the room LOL).

It's HUGE almost 2" LED backlit numbers are easy and clear to see way across the room, even in bright light. At night, no issue at all!

It keeps time perfectly too. If you are looking for a cheap and easy to read clock, this is probably one of your best choices.

Pros:
Easy to see in bright and dim light.
Battery backup, so you don't have to reset it after the power goes out.
Power cord is just the right length, not too long or too short.
Snooze alarm isn't obnoxious, but loud enough to wake you up.

Cons:
Made in China.
Feels and looks cheaply made...

The numbers are very easy to see even for people with poor eye site. The alarm works perfectly. Very good for the price.

I love this clock. The numbers are big enough to see in the middle of the night, or anytime when it is dark in the room. But, they are not so bright that we can't sleep!

Great little clock that is durable and easy to read. Battery back-up is a AA instead of the usual 9-volt, which I prefer as I always have those on hand. As other reviewer noted, it is very light and feels "cheap"... that being said, I've knocked this off my bedstand and onto a hard wood floor and it didn't phase it at all. My last Sony Dream Machine (expensive, expensive looking, heavy) fell onto a carpet and was no more. Bottom line, you can't beat this clock for the price.

Just received the alarm clock and set the time and alarm, kept the time but the alarm didn't work, in order for the alarm to be turned on you must slide the cheap little button on the back of the clock back and forth and gently push down until the alarm indicator lights up, even then it may turn off after a few minutes. Also the clock itself is very bright, to the point that it kept me awake. I do not recommend.

I love this clock!! My eyesight is -11, so I am blind without my glasses. I can see the letters on this clock even without my glasses on!!!!

PROS
*Easy to see display (good for nearly-blind people)
*No complicated features. Simple setup
*No radio function (I prefer this in alarm clocks)
*It keeps snoozing as long as you want it to (9 minute snooze)
*It's impossible to accidentally turn off the clock as I am slamming the snooze button
*The alarm tone is a good one. It is a good alarm volume to wake you up, but it isn't too abrasive

CONS
*The display is too bright (good for seeing the numbers, but bad for falling asleep). It turn it around to face the wall at night, and then I face it towards me the first time it goes off in the morning (and then the snooze button hitting begins).

We recently changed cable providers. The new cable box does not have a clock and we discovered that we had really been dependent on the clock on the old box. We wanted something with big, bright numbers and one with sleek styling and in silver color. This clock fits the bill perfectly!

This clock is just great. Large numbers, well lit. If you want a simple clock with no gadgets, this is it. I am so happy I bought it.

This clock works fine, though nothing special except a great price. We wanted a clock with an easy-to-read display, but got more than we bargained for here. We didn't stop to consider just how big the 1.8 inch numerals would be. With the bright red LEDs, it's a bit startling to see, but great if you're eyesight is challenged or if you want to see the time in a big room. Still, once you get used to the size, it's really nice to very easily see the time from anywhere in the room!
