Ordered two of these alarm clocks, One was inoperable out of the box. The second is still working after one month. The quality is not what I had expected. Apparently no QA at the factory. No way for refund from Amazon or the supplier. Probably won't purchase from them again.

Twice, I purchased a wind up clock to replace my old Baby Ben. The first clock stated that it was made by Westclock the original company that produced Baby Bens. When the first wind up arrived, I noticed differances in the new clock from by old Baby Ben. The size was the same as a Big Ben and not the normal small size. Next the controls for the clock were placed too close to each other. The original Baby Ben had twice the area of were the controls were placed on this so called Baby Ben. The new clock lasted about 3 weeks before it stopped running. Again, this product was a generic of the orginal Baby Ben. Disposed of this clock and purchased another clock which appeared to be the original Baby Ben. This was the Advance clock. Again, after 2-3 weeks this clock also stopped. I carefully checked both clocks before tossing them both out and noticed that the original Baby Ben and the Advance clock were both produced in CHINA. Over the years I have purchased many different items from Amazon.com and was satisfied. I will not purchase these items again unless they are original, made by Westclock, and MADE IN THE USA. My father in law is stuck on wind-up clocks. So I picked this up for him as a small gift last Christmas. It broke within the year.

I purchased this alarm clock because it "looked" like the "Little Ben" clock that I have used for many, many, years. But, I can assure you that it is nothing like my original clock. First of all, it's poorly designed...the wind-up key is so close to all of the other keys on the back that it's hard to wind up. The alarm stem would not stay pulled out. And, sometime during the day, the alarm would just unwind itself even though the stem was pushed in. Go find yourself a battery clock...I've thrown this piece of junk in the trash.

I plan to donate this piece of crap to Goodwill. It is very difficult to wind. The second hand is ridiculously (comically) loud. It is also unattractive. I absolutely HATE it and wouldn't recommend it.

I purchased this clock for my mother who is in her mid 70's. My grandmother used a wind-up alarm clock in her era and my mother wanted the same type of clock. My mother is very satisfied with the clock, it was exactly what she was looking for.
Good choice for a wind-up style alarm clock.
