Very disapointed!, October 15, 2008
This review is from: Advanced 6502 Programming (Hardcover)
Not that there is NOTHING of value in this book, but for the average price and the content, it is best avoided!
there are some useful routines to be gained from reading, but certainly nothing extraordinary or worth more then $5.
Worst of all is the extremely outdated hardware configuration. The entire book expects a very particular setup, and will leave a modern programmer lost for words. For those of us who remember dabbling with micro computers in the mid to late 70's, the combination of electrical engineering and limited programming resources will warm your heart from memories. but if you are looking for a book to expand your knowledge on the 6502 to apply to an atari 2600 or NES homebrew project, look anywhere else.
This is not Advanced as the title claims, but mostly a guide to very rudimentary game design (all puzzle games, lights out being the most complicated.)
